In this role, you will be learning to build and test cutting edge medical devices, while also making real contributions to production software. You will operate within a tight-knit firmware team and collaborate closely with experts from other disciplines. You will be solving difficult problems and working on systems that stand to tangibly improve people’s lives.\nThis position will be based in our New York office. We are unable to consider remote workers or individuals who are not currently based in the US and not legally authorized to work in the US.\nKey Responsibilities\nYou will be a key contributor to the development and testing of embedded software for our cutting-edge brain computer interfaces.\n\nYou are a great communicator, and you excel at collaborating with others and presenting your work. You will be regularly presenting your progress and findings to both technical and non-technical collaborators.\n\nSafety is at the heart of our ethos at Precision - and it is for you too. Candidates for this role must have a strong intuition and affinity for testing. You will be actively contributing to our suite of tests.\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nRequired Qualifications:\n1+ years of experience with embedded systems ( coursework, projects, internships)\n\nProficient in C/C++ and Python\n\nExperienced in working with microcontrollers (e.g. Nordic / NXP / STM / …) and familiar with communication protocols (e.g. SPI / I2C / UART / USB / BLE / Wi-Fi / ...)\n\nSkilled at writing unit tests and clear software documentation\n\nFamiliar with debugging tools such as the GNU Debugger and serial printing\n\nComfortable using lab equipment to debug hardware and firmware (signal generators / logic analyzers / oscilloscopes / DMMs / …)\n\nBonus if you have any of the following:\nExperience with safety-critical systems (medical devices / automotive / aerospace / …)\n\nWorking knowledge of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (particularly in the context of embedded systems)\n\nDiverse workforces create the best culture, company, and products.
