Commercial Sales Manager – Zambia Cluster\n\nEmployment Type: Permanent\n\nAbout the Role\n\nA leading agricultural organisation is seeking a Crop Scientist to provide agronomic support and sales services to corporate and commercial agricultural producers in the Southern region of Zambia.\n\nThe role will be responsible for professionally and sustainably driving agronomic support, technical advice and sales of premium and differentiated agricultural products, while contributing to the overall commercial performance of the business.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAgronomic Expertise & Technical Support\n\nProvide technical agronomic support to commercial agricultural producers.\n\nDevelop, sell, implement and monitor plant nutrition product solutions.\n\nProvide practical crop production and plant nutrition advice.\n\nSupport digital farming solutions and related initiatives.\n\nSales & Commercial Development\n\nDevelop and manage sales opportunities within the commercial farming sector.\n\nConduct market intelligence and identify new business opportunities.\n\nPrepare sales plans, forecasts and seasonal budgets.\n\nManage customer orders and coordinate logistics.\n\nSupport credit applications, debtor management and resolution of account queries.\n\nDrive value-based selling and negotiate effectively with customers.\n\nStakeholder & Relationship Management\n\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with corporate and commercial agricultural producers.\n\nWork collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.\n\nProvide high-quality customer service and account management.\n\nSupport sustainable, long-term customer relationships within the commercial farming sector.\n\nAdministration & Compliance\n\nEnsure adherence to company policies, values and contractual requirements.\n\nMaintain accurate sales administration and customer records.\n\nWork within applicable corporate governance and ethical standards.\n\nFunctional Knowledge & Competencies\n\nStrong understanding and practical experience in crop production, plant nutrition and agronomic principles.\n\nProven understanding of selling, marketing and negotiating within the commercial farming sector.\n\nWorking knowledge of corporate and commercial customer service and relationship management.\n\nStrong sales administration and organisational skills.\n\nCommercial acumen with the ability to identify and develop sales opportunities.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making ability.\n\nExcellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.\n\nAbility to work independently within a diverse and geographically dispersed team.\n\nAbility to identify problems, gather relevant information, evaluate options and develop sustainable solutions.\n\nStrong collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.\n\nSelf-driven and commercially motivated, with a strong commitment to ethical business practices.\n\nQualifications & Experience\n\nBSc Agriculture degree or related qualification, with fertilisation/plant nutrition certification.\n\nMembership of the Agricultural Institute of Zambia (AIZ).\n\nProven experience in agronomic support and plant nutrition sales to commercial agricultural producers.\n\n3–4 years’ experience in an agronomy and sales role within the commercial farming sector.\n\nExperience in seasonal planning, forecasting and budgeting.\n\nSugar cane farming experience would be highly advantageous.\n\nComputer literacy in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint or equivalent packages.\n\nFluent written and spoken English.\n\nKey Focus\n\nThe successful candidate will combine strong agronomic expertise with commercial sales capability, developing trusted relationships with commercial farmers while providing practical crop nutrition and production solutions across the Southern
