ABRY Partners is a strategic investor in Precision.\nPosition Overview\nPrecision is seeking a Senior Designer with an exceptional command of layout, typography, presentations, and branding. You’ll be a hands-on designer first, with the ability to develop concepts collaboratively, establish visual direction, and guide other designers toward stronger work.\nThe role spans rebrands, logos, campaigns, decks, and design for video. You’ll partner with creative directors and copywriters to develop ideas, then give those ideas a distinctive and coherent visual expression. You should be equally comfortable building an identity, designing a persuasive presentation, and carrying a campaign’s visual language across formats.\nOur clients bring us complex challenges at the intersection of technology, people, government, law, and politics. We’re looking for someone with interests and opinions beyond design-someone who asks good questions, engages with the subject, and brings an informed perspective to the work.\nYou’ll own substantial design assignments, work closely with our creative directors, and help raise the quality of the team’s output by mentoring, delegating to, and reviewing the work of junior designers.\nThe position can be based in either Washington, D.C. or New York, NY.\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead hands-on design across brand identities, logos, integrated campaigns, presentations, and digital and print materials.\nCollaborate with creative directors and copywriters to develop concepts and translate them into strong visual directions.\nBuild thoughtful identity systems that work across applications, with clear choices in typography, color, imagery, and composition.\nDesign decks and presentations that make complex information understandable and give a story structure, emphasis, and momentum.\nDevelop visual assets, style frames, and design direction in collaboration with video editors and producers.\nCarry a visual idea consistently across channels while adapting it to the needs of each format.\nPresent work to internal creative leads, articulate your decisions, and use feedback to strengthen the result.\nOwn projects from exploration through final production, maintaining a high standard of craft and attention to detail.\nDelegate assignments to junior designers, provide clear direction, and review their work at appropriate stages.\nMentor other designers through specific, constructive feedback on both their thinking and execution.\nManage multiple assignments, communicate progress, and identify when a project needs additional time, clarity, or support.\nWhat We’re Looking For\n6+ years of relevant design experience.\nA portfolio demonstrating exceptional layout and typography, strong branding work, and well-crafted decks or presentations.\nThe versatility to move between identity design, campaigns, presentations, and supporting design for video.\nStrong conceptual thinking and the ability to develop ideas in partnership with copywriters and creative directors.\nArt direction skills, including the ability to establish a visual approach and guide others in executing it.\nProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.\nStrong presentation design skills in Google Slides, with proficiency in PowerPoint.\nExperience mentoring designers, delegating assignments, and providing actionable creative feedback.\nCuriosity about the world beyond work and an ability to engage thoughtfully with complex issues. \nThe independence to own substantial assignments and the collaborative judgment to know when to seek input.\nA bachelor’s degree, ideally in a creative field, is preferred but not required.\nHow to Apply\nSubmit an application online via Precision’s careers page and include your resume as well as a portfolio showing branding, campaign, and presentation work, with a brief explanation of your role in each project.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive salaries\nAnnual bonus opportunity\nFlexible hybrid remote/in office plan\nRetirement plan with automatic 3% safe-harbor contribution from Precision\nHealthcare coverage - medical, dental, and vision with 90% of costs covered by Precision\nPaid vacation, sick leave, and floating holidays\nPaid parental leave\nProfessional development stipend\nThe annual salary range for this position is $105,000.00 to $139,999.00. Actual compensation and starting salaries are determined by various factors, including the candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity.
