ABRY Partners is a strategic investor in Precision.\nPosition Overview\nPrecision is seeking a UX/UI Designer who combines strong visual craft with a thoughtful understanding of how people read, navigate, and use websites. You’ll help turn complex subjects into clear, engaging digital experiences, shaping everything from page structure and user journeys to typography and interaction.\nOur creative team works closely with communications, paid media, research, data, and account teams to build integrated campaigns. The work often sits at the intersection of technology, people, government, law, and politics. We’re looking for someone who is curious about those subjects and cares about what a page communicates as much as how it looks.\nYou should be comfortable working in Figma, developing designs in response to feedback, and explaining the decisions behind your work. You’ll read the copy carefully, flag what doesn’t make sense, and use hierarchy and reading flow to make the message easier to understand.\nThe position can be based in either Washington, D.C. or New York, NY.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign website experiences from early user flows and wireframes through polished layouts, prototypes, and developer handoff.\nUse typography, hierarchy, spacing, and navigation to help people understand information and find what they need.\nWork closely with creative leads, copywriters, and account teams to understand the audience, message, and purpose behind each project.\nEngage with the content you’re designing: identify confusing language, flag gaps, and make thoughtful decisions about emphasis, grouping, and sequence.\nBuild and maintain organized Figma files, reusable components, and responsive designs.\nApply accessibility and usability principles throughout the design process.\nCollaborate with developers and review implementation to help ensure the finished experience reflects the design intent.\nPresent your work internally, explain your rationale, and incorporate feedback with care.\nManage your assignments and deadlines, communicate progress, and raise questions or obstacles early.\nWhat We’re Looking For\n2+ years of UX/UI design experience.\nA portfolio demonstrating strong website design, thoughtful user experiences, and a clear command of typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.\nProficiency in Figma, including components, responsive layouts, and prototyping.\nAn understanding of how content and design work together to guide attention and comprehension.\nCareful reading and sound editorial judgment: you notice when something doesn’t make sense and can explain why.\nFamiliarity with responsive design, accessibility, and developer handoff.\nCuriosity about the world beyond design and a willingness to learn about complex or unfamiliar subjects. \nA collaborative approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work across multiple assignments.\nA bachelor’s degree, ideally in a creative field, is preferred but not required.\nHow to Apply\nSubmit an application online via Precision’s careers page and include your resume as well as a portfolio with examples of your UX/UI work and a brief explanation of your role in each project.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive salaries\nAnnual bonus opportunity\nFlexible hybrid remote/in office plan\nRetirement plan with automatic 3% safe-harbor contribution from Precision\nHealthcare coverage - medical, dental and vision with 90% of costs covered by Precision\nPaid vacation, sick leave, and floating holidays\nPaid parental leave\nProfessional development stipend\nThe annual salary range for this position is $62,000.00 to $84,999.00. Actual compensation and starting salaries are determined by various factors, including the candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity. Once at Precision, movement through pay bands is based on performance.
