This position will focus on improving safety, quality, productivity, equipment utilization, material flow, labor efficiency, and manufacturing costs.\nThe Industrial/Process Engineer will work closely with Production, Quality, Tooling, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Management to identify operational challenges, implement process improvements, support new-product launches, and ensure that manufacturing processes consistently meet customer requirements. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to implement practical solutions on the manufacturing floor.\nRequirements\nEssential Functions:\nTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each stated essential function, with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help qualified individuals with disabilities perform the essential functions.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities: \nDevelop, document, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes for precision metal stamping, assembly, inspection, packaging, and secondary operations.\nEstablish process sequences, production routings, work-center requirements, standard cycle times, and labor requirements.\nDevelop and update process flow diagrams, work instructions, setup procedures, standard operating procedures, and visual manufacturing aids.\nEvaluate process capability and recommend adjustments to equipment, tooling, materials, inspection methods, and operating parameters.\nEnsure that manufacturing processes are repeatable, measurable, properly documented, and capable of meeting quality and delivery requirements.\nDevelop dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators to track operational performance.\nCompare actual production results against established standards and investigate significant variances.\nCollaborate with Engineering, Tooling, Quality, and Production to develop manufacturing plans for new parts.\nAssist with equipment selection, tooling trials, sample production, process qualification, and production readiness.\nCoordinate production trials and document results, lessons learned, open issues, and required corrective actions.\nEnsure required process documentation, work instructions, inspection methods, and operator training are complete before production release.\nEvaluate opportunities for automation, mistake-proofing, in-process monitoring, and improved material handling.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities \nDiagnose complex tooling problems using part measurements, visual evidence, press observations, and tool inspections.\nDetermine whether defects result from tooling, material, equipment, setup, lubrication, feeding, or process conditions.\nInvestigate problems such as excessive burrs, slug pulling, punch breakage, uneven forming, galling, cracking, dimensional drift, and premature wear.\nUse structured root-cause methods, including 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and failure analysis.\nDevelop and implement corrective actions that prevent recurring tool failures.\nWork with Engineering and Quality to evaluate nonconforming parts and determine appropriate tooling corrections.\nDocument the problem, cause, repair, and verification results.\nCommunicate unresolved risks or concerns before tooling is returned to production.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.\nTraining in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, quality systems, or project management is preferred.\nExperience:\n3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or process improvement.\nExperience developing and improving production processes, workflows, and plant layouts.\nKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.\nExperience with time studies, capacity planning, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement.\nAbility to analyze production data and establish performance metrics.\nFamiliarity with CAD, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Excel.\nExperience in precision manufacturing or project management/CNC machining is preferred.\nPosition Qualifications and Competency Statements:\n· Regard for safety - Ability to follow safety rules and processes and keeps own safety and the safety of others in the forefront of every action.\n· Integrity - Ability to demonstrate consistency between words and actions.
