Work is done primarily in the field. Position requires extensive travel within the local territory. May train or assist other employees as required.\nJob Model: On Site\nOn-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts.\nA typical day at work would include:\nConsistent, regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job.\nFIELD SERVICE AREA: Responsibilities Include:\nMechanical Seal installations\nField service valve work\nField service pump repair and installation\nNew pump assembly and installation\nLaser alignment and vibration analysis\nMachining of seals and pumps\nField service ARC applications\nMaintaining Customer Equipment Surveys\nMay, at times, support Chesterton Corporate programs, such as Fixed Fee contracts, PROP reliability programs, etc.\nMay train other employees on all field service work. \nCUSTOMER ON SITE SUPPORT: Responsibilities include:\nSupports customer requirements for system maintenance and operation.\nPicks-up parts and repairs or modifies in retail shop.\nMay conduct on site training and or installation of products.\nServes as technician in troubleshooting customer seal and pump operation.\nSupports Direct Sales personnel in customer accounts on manual work requirements.\nProvides ancillary services.\nProvides vibration analysis, laser alignment services.\nWorks on system design recommendations.\nExperience you need coming into this job:\nTrade School and/or Technical Associates Degree preferred\n2-4 years experience within any combination of the following areas:\nTechnical industrial experience\nMechanical Seal/Pump assembly and/or product knowledge\nMechanical ability and light machining experience\nIndustrial process experience\nWork directly and efficiently with customer service staff, direct sales force, distributors and end users.\nWorks independently, instructions only given on the most complex tasks. \nWorks on moderately complex issues. \nMust possess a high degree of organizational skill and attention to detail.\nRequired to concentrate on quality control standards for mechanical seals and pumps.\nRequired to perform specialized technical operations in repair and light machining of mechanical seals and pumps components as well as assembly and disassembly.\nMay train other product technician personnel.\nOrganization skills and attention to detail\nCommunication and customer service skills\nHigh degree of math, measuring and calibration ability\nAbility to troubleshoot and problem solve\nAbility to work in a fast paced environment\nAbility to lift light to moderate weights\nAbility to operate a forklift, hoist, hand truck, and basic industrial machines and tools\nBasic computer and phone skills required\nAble to write and administrate documents\nAbility to work predominantly in the field\nValid driver’s license required\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
