The goal of this cooperative effort is to safely and efficiently meet or exceed all manufacturing and quality standards. The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Operator will be the set-up and operation of the winder, various slits, and perforations. In addition, the Assistant supports the Operator when webbing the machine, during start-up, and any other tasks to allow the Operator to fulfill the duties necessary to produce the highest quality finished product. The Assistant Operator is expected to learn how to operate the COEX production line for periods up to half a shift. The Assistant Operator will be expected to work where needed based on the company’s business needs.\n\nEssential Functions and Responsibilities\nSet up and operate the COEX production line for various products. \nProvide training for new employees at the COEX line\nSafely and efficiently produce products on assigned production area.\nAlways wear Personal Protective Equipment as required.\nRead a tape measure to 1/32”.\nAssist maintenance as required and perform minor maintenance repairs and PMs.\nMust be able to communicate (read and write) in English.\nMust be able to follow both written and verbal instruction\nKeep work areas clean following 5S guidelines.\nKeep all tools and equipment in proper places.\nAssist with or operate other converting or manufacturing equipment and perform preventative/autonomous maintenance within the plant as assigned.\nEscalate safety, quality, performance issues in accordance with our site escalation matrix\nOther duties as assigned.\nCross train at other extrusion or converting assets\n\nPhysical Environmental Demands: This position requires the following on-the-job time performing physical activities:\nWork in temperatures of 100 plus with high humidity for up to 12-hour shifts. \nFrequent Standing and walking, stooping, and squatting, bending, some kneeling and crawling, occasional bending and twisting, occasional stair climbing.\nPushing/Pulling 30 – 50 pounds.\nOccasional reaching, repetitive use of wrist, hands and fingers, frequent use of shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles. \n\nHealth & Safety\nPregis values its people and is committed to providing and maintaining a safe a healthy work environment.
