Job Title: (Paper) Machine Operator
Classification: Hourly
Reports To: Production Supervisor

Summary of Job
Responsible for monitoring the operation of assigned converting machine(s) ensuring product adheres to company standard of safety, quality, and throughput.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Start up and shut down the machine properly, to ensure the production of the highest quality finished product
Set up and operate the equipment for various products
Safely and efficiently produce product on assigned production area
Housekeeping throughout assigned shift to ensure an orderly and safe environment.
Physical and visual inspection of product is required to prevent non-conforming goods. Promptly reports all quality defects to the appropriate team members.
Maintains appropriate level of production supplies/ materials as required, to ensure next shift operators incur minimal downtime.
Continuously monitor machine operation to ensure accurate product measurements and quality are being maintained.
Meets or exceeds production rates, minimize waste levels and meets all customer requirements.
Sets up and adjusts rewinders.
Neatly palletizes skids with finished product.
Enters production reporting data into machine computer accurately.
Separates scrap into appropriate film-type gaylord.
Operates core cutting machine, vacuum lift, and pallet jack.
Assist on or operate other converting or manufacturing equipment and perform preventative maintenance within the plant as assigned
Acquires knowledge/ skills of Set-up Technicians to better assist and troubleshoot when needed.

Adheres to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations including all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
Attends meetings and completes safety trainings as required.

Prior SAP or similar ERP system knowledge.
Read a tape measure to 1/32”

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $18/hr. to $19.50/hr. The Company offers paid vacation time, paid sick leave, medical, dental and vision plans as well as a 401 (k) with employer match.
