This position oversees the development and execution of production schedules, coordinates material availability, manages planning processes, and works cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, customer service, and engineering teams to achieve business objectives.\nThis position is critical to ensuring operational excellence by aligning customer demand, production capacity, and material availability to achieve business and customer service objectives.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupervise and lead production planning and scheduling personnel.\nDevelop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand, inventory targets, and operational goals.\nCoordinate capacity planning activities, balancing labor, equipment, and material resources.\nMonitor schedule adherence and adjust production plans as needed to address changing priorities, material shortages, or equipment downtime.\nCollaborate with purchasing and supply chain teams to ensure timely material availability.\nReview demand forecasts and customer orders to establish production priorities.\nManage work order creation, release, and tracking through ERP/MRP systems.\nAnalyze production performance, inventory levels, and planning metrics to identify improvement opportunities.\nLead daily and weekly planning meetings with production and operations leadership.\nDevelop and maintain planning policies, procedures, and best practices.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization, throughput improvement, and schedule accuracy.\nSupport new product introductions and major operational projects.\nEnsure compliance with quality, safety, and company standards.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.\n5+ years of experience in manufacturing planning, scheduling, supply chain, or operations.\nPrevious supervisory or leadership experience preferred.\nStrong understanding of production planning, capacity planning, inventory control, and MRP/ERP systems.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business systems.\nExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong communication and leadership abilities.\nKey Competencies\nProduction Planning & Scheduling\nCapacity Management\nMaterials Management\nInventory Control\nERP/MRP Systems\nTeam Leadership\nData Analysis\nContinuous Improvement\nCustomer Focus\nDecision Making\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPerformance Metrics\nSchedule Attainment\nOn-Time Delivery\nInventory Turns\nForecast Accuracy\nProduction Efficiency\nCapacity Utilization\nCustomer Service Performance\nPlanning Accuracy\nReporting Structure\nReports To: Plant Manager\nDirect Reports: Production Planners, Production Schedulers, or Materials Coordinators (as applicable)\nCompensation\nThe listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis’ total compensation package.
