Title: Safety Specialist\nReports To: Production Supervisor \n\nSummary of Safety Specialist \nThe Safety Specialist provides support to management for coordination and administration of overall facility needs related to safety in the workplace. \n\nEssential Functions and Responsibilities \nPartner with Leadership Team for continuous improvement in the Pregis World Class 7 Elements of Safety Program, promoting a zero-injury safety culture. \nLead all new employee safety orientation. \nFacilitate Safety Mentorship process for new employees. \nTrain and collaboration with on shift safety mentors on key employee safety training needs \nMonitor monthly employee safety participation tasks spreadsheet for compliance. \nSchedule, conduct and track monthly JJ Keller safety training and EASE assessments. \nManage facility workplace incidents to include responding to and reporting all incidents and incident investigations to determine root cause and prevention plans. \nMaintain safety communication wall and electronic information stations throughout the facility. \nMaintain appropriate inventory levels for all safety supplies.\nMaintain and record OSHA log and upload RCAs into SharePoint \nAdheres to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations including all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. \nAssist in emergency response and provide first aid guidance. \nDevelop and update Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Machine Guarding Assessments \nMaintain safety portion of MDI communication boards.\nPost site safety KPIs and safety trends monthly.\nPerforms other duties as assigned to support the leadership team in achieving the site’s goals. \nMonitor front lobby (visitors, vendors, etc.) \n\nCompetency (Knowledge, skills, and abilities) \nAbility to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others to ensure a positive teamwork culture. \nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture. \nSupport, demonstrate and promote Pregis’ core values: integrity, collaboration, customer focus and innovation.\nProficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams) \n\nEnvironment \nExposure to moving equipment. \nInside work \nHeat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.\nHumidity may exceed 80%. \nNoise may exceed 85dB+ \n\nPhysical Characteristics \nFrequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75% \nOccasional lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs.)
