The primary role of a Slitter Operator is setting-up and operating a slitting machine to cut rolls of Protective Film to documented specifications and/or winding or rewinding as necessary to ensure optimum safety, quality and production while minimizing cost, energy, and waste in our team-based environment. In this role, you will operator out of our Conover, NC facility, reporting to the Production Manager.\n\nClassification: Full-Time-Hourly\nReports To: Shift Supervisor \nShifts: Days and Nights -6AM - 6PM, 6PM-6AM based on a 2-2-3 schedule (overtime as needed based on business needs).\nCompensation & Growth: Competitive starting pay of $18–$21/hr, plus career growth opportunities with potential to earn higher wages (up to $32/hr) as you advance within Pregis.\n\nDuties/Responsibilities\nSupport Environmental Health & Safety for the facility, following all current policies and procedures and making an effort to improve the Environmental Health and Safety performance of our facility.\nSet-up and operate slitter machines to efficiency, quality and order specifications.\nSpaces rotary slitter knifes or razor blades on machine shaft or holding device according to specified width and secures blades in position\nMaintain visual workplace standards.\nComplete required paperwork including visual check sheets and run condition sheets\nMonitors and maintains quality by looking for defects in the products\nSafely operate Jib hoists and pallet jacks\nMeets established production goals\nEnters production data in SAP\nActively participate in all Continuous Improvement, Safety and Quality initiatives\nPerforms housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe work environment\nUnderstands and supports PF&C Quality Policy.\nUnderstands PF&C Quality Objectives, and aids in the achievement of them.\nContributes to the continual improvement of PF&C’s Quality Management System by following current written policies, procedures, and work instructions, etc., while providing constructive feedback, input, and suggestions.\n\nEducation and Experience\nHigh School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)\nPrior experience in slitting operation is preferred but not required\nA minimum of 1 year of experience operating Production/Converting equipment in a Manufacturing setting\nBilingual in English/Spanish is a plus\nAbility to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds\nAbility to quantify results, identify new opportunities, adapt to change and interface with all levels of management\nBasic computer skills (SAP knowledge is a
