General housekeeping and adherence to safety, quality and throughput in accordance with Pregis policies and procedures.\n\nEssential Functions and Responsibilities \nSupport, demonstrate and promote Pregis’ core values: integrity, collaboration, customer focus and innovation\nAdhere to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules and regulations and communicates to ensure all safety procedures are strictly adhered to by material handlers\nSafely drive a forklift to stage material, load trucks, unload trucks, and transfer material within the plant and within departments\nContributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks in a timely and efficient manner\nAssists to maintain a well-organized, FIFO (first in, first out) controlled inventory by identifying and placing materials and supplies in stock locations as defined by management.\nCoordinate with Shipping Clerk and/or Logistics Supervisor to prepare finished stock for outbound shipment by identifying, inspecting, pulling, and staging product in correct location \nCoordinate with Shipping Clerk and/or Logistics Supervisor on outbound responsibilities including the inspection, transporting, and loading of product to include sealing of trailers and proper staging of outbound loads\nCoordinate with Receiving Clerk and/or Logistics Supervisor on inbound responsibilities to include ensuring the proper unloading, inspection, transporting, and put-away of product including the assignment of trucks to doors\nBe a reliable member of the team, always identifying and professionally communicating ways to improve the work environment\nResponsible for assisting with training material handler employees; planning, assigning, and directing work and communicating all complaints and problems to management\nEnsure the production line has adequate supplies to operate\nSAP responsibilities, as a back up to the Logistics Supervisor and Shipping & Receiving Clerk for receiving of inbound loads and shipping of outbound loads\nEnsure any maintenance or repair issues for the building facilities, vehicles, and equipment are addressed timely and communicated to the management\nFocus on continuous improvement and assists the material handler employees with identifying and resolving process improvement areas\nExperience moving trailers with yard dog (open to training)\nMonitor material handler employees work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to quality standards, common practices and procedures\nParticipate in ensuring the quality of inbound and outbound material is to standard\nAdhere to all PPE requirements per facility rules and regulations\nPerform other duties and projects as assigned.\n\nCompetency (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)\nAbility to take coaching well and communicates respectfully with others to ensure a positive teamwork culture.\nBilingual is a plus \nPromote positive teamwork culture.\nAbility to communicate with team effectively and respectfully and during shift transition.\nKnowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.\n\nEnvironment\nExposure to moving equipment\nInside work\nHeat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit \nHumidity may exceed 80%\nNoise may exceed 85dB+\nPersonal Protective Equipment required\n\nPhysical Characteristics\nFrequent standing, stooping, sitting\nFrequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs.)\nOccasional typing/keyboarding\n\nPosition Type\nFull time\nShift work (specify hours/shift)\nOvertime expected per business demand\n\nEducation and Experience\n3-5+ years of sit-down forklift experience\n3-5+ years of inventory control and process improvement experience\nPrior SAP or similar ERP system knowledge \n3-5+ years MS Office experience\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent (GED)\n\nAffirmative Action/EEO Statement/Inclusion\nWe offer equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibit discrimination and harassment of any type based on race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
