You will work as part of an agile, collaborative team to deliver high-quality mobile solutions that support Premera’s digital health strategy and enhance our flagship mobile applications.\nIn this role, you will solve moderately complex technical problems, contribute to design and implementation decisions, and apply modern engineering practices to build secure, reliable, and user-friendly mobile experiences that help transform health care.\nThis is a hybrid role located on our campus in Mountlake Terrace, Washington.\nWhat you'll do:\nContribute to the development of Premera’s next-generation suite of React Native mobile applications.\nDesign, build, and enhance mobile features using modern technologies, frameworks, and best practices.\nParticipate in technical design discussions and contribute solutions that support scalability, performance, and maintainability.\nDevelop and maintain clean, testable, and well-documented code in an agile delivery environment.\nCollaborate closely with product owners, designers, and other engineers to deliver software that is simple, intuitive, and easy to use.\nParticipate in pair programming and peer code reviews to improve quality and knowledge sharing.\nImprove application quality and reliability by writing unit tests and automated UI tests.\nTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues, including production defects, with a focus on customer impact.\nCommunicate progress, risks, and dependencies effectively within the team and with delivery partners.\nContinuously learn and apply new tools, technologies, and techniques to improve mobile engineering practices.\nWhat you’ll bring\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.\n4+ years of professional software development experience.\n3+ years of hands-on experience developing mobile applications with React Native.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience contributing to the design and delivery of production-scale mobile applications.\nFamiliarity with TypeScript, modern JavaScript frameworks, and mobile performance optimization.\nExperience integrating mobile applications with backend services and APIs.\nExperience working in healthcare or other highly regulated environments.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nExperience with iOS or Android application development and an understanding of mobile platform constraints.\nExperience working in an agile, collaborative team environment.\nDemonstrated ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.\nExperience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.\nUnderstanding of mobile security best practices.\nPhysical Requirements\nThe following have been identified as essential physical requirements of this job and must be performed with or without an accommodation:\nThis is primarily a sedentary role which requires the ability to exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.\nThis role requires the ability to keyboard and to communicate clearly and understandably in person and over the telephone.\nPremera total rewards\nOur comprehensive total rewards package provides support, resources, and opportunities to help employees thrive and grow.
