Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe Medical Assistant job description is intended to highlight major responsibilities within the role, but it is not limited to these items.\nTaking Patient Vital Signs \nTaking Medical Histories \nPreparing Patients for Medical Tests and Examinations \nAssisting Physicians During Examinations \nExplaining Medical Procedures to Patients \nSterilizing Medical Instruments \nRemoving Sutures \nCalling or electronic entering Prescriptions into Pharmacies\nPreparing Patients for X-Rays \nAdministering Topical, Oral, or Intramuscular Medications \nTranscribing all notes and documents related to treatments. \nOther duties as assigned\nTravel to clinics within the region as needed for business operation or staffing coverage requirements.\nEDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent\nCertification as a Medical Assistant or diploma from an accredited school is highly preferred.\nA minimum of one year experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinic, physician practice or urgent care setting \nPROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES\nStrong knowledge of medical correspondence, managing electronic medical records \nExcellent customer service skills \nExperience as a Phlebotomist is desirable but not required. \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills \nTeam player, able to work with provider and other team members of the care team.\nBilingual (English and Spanish) preferred\nAs an Equal Opportunity Employer, we welcome and employ a diverse employee group committed to meeting the needs of NeueHealth, our consumers, and the communities we serve.
