As a Prep Academy Tutor, You Will:

  • Offer enrichment opportunities and challenging activities for students looking to extend their learning.
  • Adapt instructional strategies and learning activities to meet individual student needs, including students requiring special education support.
  • Build students’ confidence, independence, and motivation as learners.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, goals, and strategies for improvement.
  • Create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment that encourages students to reach their full potential.

  • Are qualified to teach in another Canadian Province or Territory outside of British Columbia.
  • Are a certified teacher in Canada or the United States (or are in the process of becoming one).
  • Are currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program.
  • Have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited Canadian college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring Primary/Junior students.
  • Experience providing academic coaching or individualized instruction.

  • A passion for working with students and families.
  • A commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
  • The ability to develop engaging, individualized learning experiences.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to students’ homes throughout Vancouver.
