Discovery’s Linear advertising platforms within the Converged\nAdvertising and Linear Systems organization. This role is responsible for\nensuring that linear ad-tech solutions - spanning planning, forecasting,\norder management, trafficking, and yield optimization - are scalable,\nreliable, and fully integrated with converged linear and digital workflows.\nActing as a senior technical and delivery leader, the Director partners closely\nwith Sales, Product, and Engineering to translate business needs into durable\nsystem architectures. This role plays a critical part in modernizing legacy\nlinear systems, improving operational efficiency, and enabling revenue\ngrowth across WBD’s global ad sales ecosystem.\n.\nYour Role Accountabilities:\nLinear Systems Architecture & Platform Ownership\nOwn the architecture and technical direction of WBD’s Linear advertising\nsystems.\nEnsure interoperability across linear planning, forecasting, trafficking, billing,\nand reporting platforms.\nDefine system roadmaps that balance stability, performance, and\nmodernization.\nDelivery Leadership & System Integration\nLead teams responsible for delivering and operating business-critical linear\nad-tech systems.\nOversee integrations between linear platforms and converged digital, identity,\ndata, and sales systems.\nEnsure high availability, operational excellence, and predictable delivery\noutcomes.\nPlatform Modernization & Technical Excellence (20%)\nDrive the evolution of legacy linear systems toward converged, agentic-driven,\nand cloud-enabled architectures.\nImplement standards for observability, security, compliance, and cost\nmanagement.\nReduce technical debt while maintaining continuity for revenue-critical\nworkflows.\nStakeholder Partnership & Business Alignment\nPartner with Sales, Product, Finance, and Operations to align system capabilities\nwith revenue and market priorities.\nServe as a senior technical advisor in leadership discussions related to linear\nmonetization and system investment.\nCommunicate complex technical concepts clearly to executive and non-technical audiences.\nQualifications & Experience\nEducation: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or\nrelated technical discipline required; advanced certifications in cloud/architecture\npreferred.\nLeadership: 15+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering or platform\ndelivery, with at least 5 years in technical leadership roles.\nLinear Ad-Tech Expertise: Strong understanding of linear advertising systems\nincluding planning, order management, trafficking, forecasting, yield, and reporting.\nArchitecture & Platforms: Experience designing and operating large-scale,\nhigh-availability systems; cloud and API experience strongly preferred.\nModernization: Proven track record modernizing legacy systems while supporting\nactive business operations.\nLeadership & Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence outcomes across Product, Sales, Finance, and Engineering.\nHow We Get Things Done…\nThis last bit is probably the most important! Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $180,110.00 - $334,490.00 salary per year.
