As a senior individual contributor, you will work with a high level of autonomy, take ownership of complex technical challenges and help shape the team’s technical direction. You will collaborate with Principal Engineers and Architects to define and implement the technology strategy, while providing technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers. You will bring curiosity, versatility and a collaborative approach to solving new problems in a fast-paced engineering environment.\nYour Role Accountabilities...\nDesign, develop and maintain high-quality client-side features for CNN’s Roku streaming application.\n\nContribute to the technical strategy, architecture and engineering best practices for CNN’s Connected TV experiences.\n\nBuild scalable and reliable solutions that support the performance and continued success of CNN’s streaming platform.\n\nHelp guide decisions on development tools, technologies, test automation and CI/CD practices.\n\nWrite clear technical documentation, conduct code reviews and troubleshoot complex software issues.\n\nSupport the testing, deployment and release of production-quality Roku applications.\n\nPartner with Product, Design and Delivery leaders to translate product initiatives into robust technical solutions.\n\nCommunicate and collaborate effectively with engineers, stakeholders and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment\n\nQualifications and Experience...\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.\n\nAt least 5 years of experience developing and releasing software products and services.\n\nProficiency in client-side scripting languages such as JavaScript or Python; experience with BrightScript and SceneGraph is also essential.\n\nExpertise in version control with Git and GitHub, and familiarity with CI/CD pipeline technologies.\n\nExperience developing for streaming devices like Roku, FireTV, or similar platforms is a plus.\n\nStrong understanding of coding best practices, unit testing, and maintaining thorough documentation.\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\n\nHow We Get Things Done…\nThis last bit is probably the most important!
