Discovery’s family of Sports products/brands, including Eurosport, NCAA/MML, and Bleacher Report. Operating with a function-wide view, you will work across multiple teams to drive technical solutions, influence architecture and decisions, and partner closely with product/project managers, users, development staff, and senior leadership to implement designs, develop and deploy fan-facing solutions.\nDrive strategic architecture investments across the WBD Sports platform, taking a function-wide view of technical solutions and their long-term implications.\n\nIndependently map business and product needs to engineering projects, driving initiatives from conception through completion with minimal oversight.\n\nServe as a key influencer in sports platform strategy, contributing significantly to both tactical execution and long-term technical vision.\n\nEnsure implementation of comprehensive test coverage, resiliency, disaster recovery, and operational excellence practices across Sports products and systems.\n\nDemonstrate excellent ability to document technical solutions and articulate them to both business and technical audiences.\n\nPresent, advocate and champion engineering perspectives.\n\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies and show ownership of work throughout the sprint process.\n\nBuild and maintain highly available, low-latency systems that successfully serve sports content to customers in production environments.\n\nIntegrate service health, monitoring, alerting and documentation capabilities in parallel to your software development deliverables.\n\nCoach and mentor engineers up to Senior Software Engineer level, providing input to leadership on team development needs and growth opportunities.\n\n What to Bring:\n13+ years of demonstrated expertise in building scalable iOS applications, including deep experience with Swift and SwiftUI.\n\nStrong understanding of software design patterns and architectural principles, including VIP Architecture (View-Interactor-Presenter), Dependency Injection (DI), and SOLID Principles.\n\nStrong knowledge of GraphQL, including schema design, fragment management, and client/server integration.\n\nAdvanced proficiency in TDD, unit/integration testing strategies, and establishing testing standards across complex applications.\n\nDeep understanding of networking, dependency injection, and async programming - including experience with Swift Package Manager (SPM).\n\nExperience translating complex design features into modular components using design software (e.g., Figma).\n\nProven track record architecting and maintaining large-scale, modular codebases across multiple teams.\n\nAbility to design and implement robust APIs and data transport layers.\n\nSolid performance optimization and monitoring expertise for high-traffic applications.\n\nAbility to create functional-level impact, independently define and drive work to completion, and deliver complex initiatives with little to no oversight.\n\nEffective communication skills as exemplified by technical documentation deliverables, and stakeholder and adjacent team interactions, including the ability to persuade diverse audiences.\n\nDemonstrated leadership in technical decision-making, mentoring up to Staff level, and cross-team collaboration.\n\nFluency in English is a must.\n\nBonus Skills:\nExperience with Apollo GraphQL or similar frameworks.\n\nExperience working with design tokens.\n\nExposure to sports, media, or entertainment platforms.\n\n Technical Environment:\nTech Stack: Swift, SwiftUI\n\nDevelopment Practices: TDD, pair programming, code reviews, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD)\n\nDeployment: Automated using Github Actions, Firebase App Distribution\n\nTechnologies Used: GraphQL backend, dependency injection, async programming\n\nAgile Practices: Dailies, story detailing, planning, retrospectives\n\nWhat We Offer:\nA Great Place to work\n\nEqual opportunity employer\n\nFast track growth opportunities\n\nHow We Get Things Done…\nThis last bit is probably the most important!
