We sell across three divisions. Managed AI is our MSP, purpose-built for institutional investors: private equity firms, venture capital funds, asset managers, and capital markets clients. We map how a firm actually works, deploy custom agents into the workflows that consume deal teams' time (reading deal documents, drafting IC memos, scoring targets, triaging inbound, structuring offers, monitoring portfolio companies), and keep evolving those systems as models and firm needs change. AI Engineering embeds our teams directly with clients to build and harden production AI systems. AI Transformation handles roadmap and readiness work, helping leaders figure out what to build, in what order, and how to prepare for it.

Job Description

PressW is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Applied AI Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a leader in AI-driven solutions, we are dedicated to building real-world AI applications that empower businesses. In this role, you will be responsible for building scalable, high-performance applications that integrate AI models and APIs. You will work across the entire development stack, from frontend interfaces to backend and infrastructure, ensuring seamless functionality and optimal user experiences. This role requires a balance of software engineering skills, cloud infrastructure knowledge, and best practices in modern web development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full-stack applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Build and optimize backend services using Python (FastAPI, Flask) and integrate AI models and APIs.

• Design and implement frontend interfaces using modern TypeScript frameworks like React or NextJS.

• Manage cloud infrastructure and deploy applications on AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure (AWS preferred).

• Utilize Terraform or similar tools for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage cloud resources.

• Implement scalable systems that can efficiently operate under large 100k+ user loads

• Optimize databases and data storage solutions using PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

• Work cross-functionally with product managers, AI engineers, and UX designers to bring AI-driven applications to market.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes.

• Ensure security best practices are followed in application architecture and development.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI/ML technologies and recommend their adoption where applicable.

• Maintain best practices in software engineering.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with TypeScript, including concepts like asynchronous programming, closures, types, React, and Next.js

• 4+ years of professional experience with React, including familiarity with React Server Components

• 4+ years of professional Python development, with hands-on experience using FastAPI for backend services.

• 2+ years of using Terraform or similar infrastructure management tools.

• Professional experience developing and deploying scalable applications to production environments

• Proficiency in HTML/CSS and Git version control

• A solid understanding of how to build and interact with RESTful APIs, databases, and other back-end technologies

• Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or Zustand

• Experience with deployment and/or machine learning solutions to at least one of the following cloud providers: Google Cloud, Azure, AWS (Azure preferred), and React applications

• Familiarity with LLMs and AI frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph is highly desirable.

• Strong API development experience, including integrating AI models into production systems.

• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, including experience working in collaborative, iterative development environments.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in complex systems involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

• Excellent debugging and optimization skills

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering practical, scalable solutions.

• Experience using AI assistants to optimize your day-to-day productivity

Preferred Skills

• Experience with natural language processing (NLP) or large language models (LLMs).

• Experience building LLM applications that leverage RAG and/or Graph-RAG as a core functionality

• Experience with NextJS and its app directory routing structure

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for machine learning workflows.

• Experience developing native apps through Expo

• Knowledge of data engineering tools and techniques for preprocessing large datasets.

• Familiarity with GraphQL

• Familiarity with TailwindCSS and headless-ui frameworks

This is a hybrid role based out of our East Austin office, where you'll work alongside the team 3 to 5 days a week.
