Data Engineer (ITBC)

At Pretius, we are looking for a Data Engineer to a project in the financial industry, Forward Deployed Engineering team. In this role, you will work directly with clients to transform fragmented, complex data into reliable, analysis-ready datasets that power modern tax compliance and data-driven decision-making.

Project / Role

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data ingestion, integration, and transformation pipelines using modern cloud technologies.
• Integrate data from enterprise platforms including ERP, HR, finance systems, SharePoint, APIs, fund administration systems, and flat files.
• Develop robust ETL/ELT workflows, data models, and automated validation processes to ensure data accuracy, traceability, and quality.
• Deliver reliable, analysis-ready datasets, dashboards, and self-service reporting solutions.
• Collaborate closely with client stakeholders to understand source systems, resolve data issues, and translate technical concepts into business language.
• Define data architecture, optimize solution performance, and implement security, governance, and compliance best practices.
• Support deployment, operational maintenance, and continuous improvement of data products while promoting reusable engineering patterns.
• Mentor junior engineers through knowledge sharing and code reviews.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, Python, PySpark, and modern ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Experience integrating data from enterprise systems (ERP, finance platforms, APIs, SharePoint, flat files) and building scalable cloud-based data solutions.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, performance optimization, data quality, reconciliation, governance, security, and Azure Data Platform.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and automated deployment processes.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience mentoring other engineers and knowledge of responsible AI practices are considered strong advantages.
• Proficiency in English.
