This includes server administration, networking, backups, endpoint configuration, first-line support, and operational IT tasks. The role requires a hands-on individual who can manage day-to-day operations while ensuring continuous availability of critical business systems.\n\nDuties & Responsibilities\n\n Server & Infrastructure Administration\n\n Manage and maintain all Windows Servers (on-prem and cloud).\n\n Administer Hyper-V and VMware virtual environments.\n\n Monitor server performance, patching, and security.\n\n Administer SQL Server instances at a basic operational level.\n\nBackup & Disaster Recovery\n\n Oversee and verify all backups using Veeam, Windows Backup, and SQL backups.\n\n Perform regular restore tests and ensure recovery plans are up to date.\n\nNetworking & Security\n\n Maintain and configure Dell managed switches, switches, and networking equipment.\n\n Manage VPNs, including WatchGuard configurations and remote access.\n\n Monitor network health, uptime, and security.\n\n Setting up and maintaining Unifi APs\n\nEndpoint & User Support\n\n Configure and deploy new laptops and desktops (manual setup).\n\n Install software, configure profiles, and ensure policy compliance.\n\n Respond to first-line helpdesk incidents.\n\n Maintain and update the IT asset register.\n\n Ysoft maintenance\n\nSecurity & Monitoring\n\n Work with Arctic Wolf EDR for alerts and remediation.\n\n Apply server and workstation patches.\n\n Ensure compliance with IT security controls.\n\nTelephony (3CX)\n\n Manage basic 3CX configuration and user changes.\n\n Coordinate 3CX support with external providers when required.\n\nPeripheral Systems\n\n Manage printers and troubleshoot faults.\n\n Maintain CCTV cameras and recorders.\n\n Assist with UPS and power-related infrastructure.\n\nCloud & Communication Platforms\n\n Basic administration of Microsoft 365 (mailboxes, distribution lists, licensing).\n\n Assist with SSL certificates and DNS/domain administration.\n\n Assist with cloud-hosted systems (Pretor’s two cloud servers).\n\nDocumentation & Processes\n\n Maintain accurate documentation for systems, procedures, and configurations.\n\n Assist with IT projects and infrastructure upgrades.\n\nDesired Experience & Qualification\nTechnical Skills\n\n Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration.\n\n Virtualisation experience (Hyper-V / VMware).\n\n Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls).\n\n Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication.\n\n Basic SQL Server operational knowledge.\n\n Microsoft 365 administration experience.\n\n VPN and firewall experience (WatchGuard preferred).\n\n Familiar with EDR tools (Arctic Wolf beneficial).\n\n Basic 3CX PBX experience.\n\nSoft Skills\n\n Strong problem-solving ability.\n\n Good communication skills with users and directors.\n\n Ability to document processes clearly.\n\n Strong time management and prioritisation.\n\n Self-driven with the ability to work independently.\n\n High attention to detail.\n\n Calm under pressure and service-oriented.\n\nQualifications & Experience\n\n 3–5 years’ experience in a similar Network/System Administrator role.\n\n Relevant IT qualifications or certifications beneficial (A+, N+, MCSA, CCNA, VMware, etc.).\n\n Experience in a multi-site or medium-sized business environment advantageous.\n\nWorking Conditions\n\n On-site role.\n\n Occasional after-hours work for maintenance or
