You will join a supportive team where you’ll be encouraged to do your best work and define the way we use data in the business.\nKey Responsibilities & Duties\nSupervise daily laboratory operations and provide technical guidance to laboratory technicians. \nServe as the primary point of contact for laboratory technicians in the absence of the Laboratory Management.\nReceive, book, and prepare a variety of biological samples, including urine, swabs, and blood. \nOperate and maintain high-throughput serological and molecular analysers. \nPerform manual confirmatory assays where required. \nReview, release and report test results. \nConduct method validation, verification, and troubleshooting of analytical processes. \nIdentify, log, resolve, and report problem samples and analytical issues. \nEnsure full compliance with the laboratory’s Quality Management System and ISO 15189 accreditation standards. Actively participate in UKAS assessment visits. \nParticipate in External Quality Assessment (EQA) and Internal Quality Assessment (IQA) programs. \nMaintain comprehensive laboratory records, including quality control logs, equipment maintenance records, and CAPA documentation. \nPerform acceptance testing for new equipment, reagents, and consumables; ensure ongoing equipment calibration, mapping, and functionality. \nPromote and uphold Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) to ensure accuracy and precision in all activities. \nComply with all laboratory policies, including those related to data protection, confidentiality, waste management, and conduct. \nManage and validate stock levels; receive and validate deliveries of laboratory consumables and reagents. \nDeliver training to laboratory personnel within area(s) of expertise. \nEnsure completion and documentation of all scheduled maintenance, calibration, and servicing tasks. \nContribute to general laboratory upkeep, including analyser maintenance, waste disposal, and housekeeping. \nHandle and dispose of confidential and hazardous waste safely and in accordance with regulations. \nShift Pattern\nThe preferred candidate will have the following experience, abilities, and aptitudes:\nCriteria\nEssential\nQualification\nHold a degree in a relevant scientific subject or to have relevant experience. \nKnowledge and\nExperience\nGood knowledge of laboratory practice and experience working in a laboratory environment.\nSkills\nAbility to work independentlyand as part of a group.\nEfficient, adaptable, methodicaland organised, with good attention to detail.\nGood hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.\nAwareness of cross-contamination avoidance and handling of confidential information is essential.\nAbility to work with minimum supervision. \nEquity, Diversity & Inclusion at Preventx\nAt Preventx, we believe diversity drives innovation and inclusion strengthens our impact.
