The role requires working as part of a team, inspecting, repairing, and testing all electrical items to the highest standards, whilst maintaining full and accurate records of all work completed.\nQualifications\nMinimum of 3 years’ experience working within the Events industry.\nClear understanding of High Voltage systems, Alternating Current, and Direct Current.\nCompetence in using hand and light power tools for cutting, stripping, and crimping.\nDemonstrable knowledge of power distribution and electrical safety at work.\nStrong understanding of cable repair within a warehouse environment.\nExcellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills.\nProficiency in using unleaded solder.\nComputer literate in Windows applications.\nMethodical approach with a willingness to learn and share updates with others.\nHigh level of accuracy and attention to detail.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to prioritise daily workload effectively.\nAbility to work independently or as part of a team within strict time constraints.\nUnderstanding and compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety Rules.\nAbility to follow and undertake safe lifting practices as instructed.\nFlexibility to work additional hours when necessary.\nPositive attitude towards extra duties and new challenges.\nReliable with good timekeeping.\nResponsibilities\nEstablish routine safety checks of all cables, ensuring they are fit for use and that annual Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is up to date.\nPrepare and carry out PAT testing where necessary, ensuring all information is accurately logged.\nMaintain the cable department, ensuring efficient de-prep and prep of cables.\nRe-stock cables correctly, ensuring proper addition to stock counts within Winhits.\nAssist with the safe loading and unloading of vehicles as directed by the Operations Director.\nInform the relevant Head of Department of any shortages or issues with equipment ahead of forthcoming jobs.\nEnsure correct entry of equipment onto the rental software, including barcode scanning.\nAssist in undertaking stock cycle counts with operational departments when scheduled.\nSupport department technicians with service requests and technical assistance.\nEnsure all equipment and flight case tour labels are clearly marked for specific jobs.\nMaintain workshop tools, equipment, and parts storage; inform the Head of Department of stock shortages as required.\nUndertake repair activities at other locations if required in planned or emergency situations.\nKeep the department clean and tidy to avoid Health and Safety risks.\nLiaise with colleagues regarding workload, repairs, or requirements to ensure deadlines are met.\nCarry out electrical equipment repairs using a methodical approach that ensures consistent results.\nMaintain a high level of operational and technical expertise regarding audiovisual cables.\nKeep complete and accurate records of all items in service, including information that may be useful in the future.\nEnsure compliance with Company policies, rules, procedures, and obligations.\nKeep the warehouse tidy and orderly at all times.\nFulfil any other reasonable task required by the Company.\nReport any Health and Safety issues to the Operations Manager.\nUndertake training as required for personal development within the role.\nNote: The above list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be exhaustive.
