This role serves as the technical owner for mechanical product design, ensuring standard and custom solutions meet performance requirements, manufacturing objectives, regulatory standards, and cost targets. The position works closely with Electrical Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Product Management and other product teams to support product development, custom engineering requests and continuous improvement initiatives.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and maintain mechanical assemblies, sheet metal components, structural elements, and bills of materials for Applied HVAC products.\nCreate and maintain detailed 3D models, drawings, and product documentation using SolidWorks, DraftSight, PDM, and ERP systems.\nSupport new product development, product standardization, cost reduction, and engineering change management activities.\nDevelop and execute product validation plans, including laboratory testing, performance testing, and design verification activities.\nLead design reviews, FMEAs, risk assessments, and pre-production build reviews.\nCollaborate with Manufacturing to improve assembly efficiency, product quality, and design-for-manufacturing outcomes.\nSupport production, field service, quality, and customer-related technical issues through troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.\nEnsure designs comply with applicable industry standards and certifications including CSA, UL, AHRI, and building codes.\nWork cross-functionally with Electrical design, suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree or Technology Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.\n3+ years of experience designing mechanical systems for manufactured products, HVAC equipment, or industrial equipment.\nStrong proficiency with SolidWorks, CAD systems, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.\nExperience with product development processes, engineering change controls, and manufacturing support.\nStrong understanding of sheet metal fabrication, mechanical assemblies, and design-for-manufacturing principles.\nStrong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with design and application of AHU’s, Fan Coils, Terminals and other commercial HVAC equipment\nExperience with refrigeration, heat transfer, airflow, and thermal systems.\nManufacturing experience in a production environment.\nExperience with electrical and control systems integration.\nExperience conducting
