Inventory Control & Accuracy\n\nMaintain accurate system and physical inventory records across all SKUs\n\nEnsure every stock movement is properly recorded.\n\nMonitor system-to-physical inventory accuracy.\n\nInvestigate inventory variances.\n\nEnsure approved stock adjustments are properly documented.\n\nMaintain inventory records in the ERP/WMS.\n\nEstablish strong controls against unauthorized stock movements.\n\nEnsure inventory transactions are completed on a timely basis.\n\n. Receiving & Inventory Verification\n\nThe Inventory Manager will not own the physical unloading or warehouse receiving operation.\n\nInstead, the role will:\n\nVerify quantities received against PO and GRN.\n\nValidate inventory records following receipt.\n\nConfirm that received quantities are correctly entered into the system.\n\nInvestigate differences between PO, GRN, supplier invoice and physical quantity.\n\nEnsure rejected, damaged, short-delivered and excess quantities are correctly reflected in inventory.\n\nWork with Procurement, Finance, QC and Warehouse to resolve receiving discrepancies.\n\nThis distinction is important: the Warehouse Manager ensures goods are physically received and stored properly, while the Inventory Manager verifies and records the inventory position.\n\n. STOCK RECONCILIATION\n\nThe Inventory Manager will own the complete reconciliation process.\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\nDaily reconciliation of critical/high-value SKUs.\n\nWeekly cycle-count reconciliation.\n\nMonthly full stock reconciliation.\n\nInvestigate physical versus system variances.\n\nIdentify root causes of discrepancies.\n\nRecommend approved inventory adjustments.\n\nMaintain an inventory variance register.\n\nTrack unresolved variances to closure.\n\nReport recurring discrepancies to management.\n\nWhere the system indicates 100 units but only 92 units are physically available, the Inventory Manager owns the investigation, reconciliation and inventory adjustment process. The Warehouse Manager investigates the physical causes such as mis-picking, wrong put-away, damage, theft or misplaced stock.\n\n. CYCLE COUNTS & STOCKTAKES\n\nThe Inventory Manager will own:\nCategory\n\nFrequency\n\nA / Critical SKUs\n\nDaily / 2–3 times weekly\n\nB SKUs\n\nWeekly\n\nC SKUs\n\nMonthly\n\nHigh-value items\n\nFrequent independent verification\n\nPerishables\n\nBased on risk/velocity\n\nFull stocktake\n\nMonthly / quarterly as required\n\nCycle-count programme.\n\nDaily/weekly/monthly stock-count schedules.\n\nABC inventory classification.\n\nCritical SKU counts.\n\nRandom spot checks.\n\nFull physical stocktakes.\n\nCount variance analysis.\n\nStocktake reconciliation.\n\nAdjustment approval workflow.\n\nDocumentation and audit trail.\n\nSuggested counting frequency\n\n. INVENTORY AVAILABILITY\n\nThe Inventory Manager will provide accurate visibility of:\n\nPhysical stock\n\nAvailable stock\n\nReserved/committed stock\n\nDamaged stock\n\nQuarantined stock\n\nExpired stock\n\nStock in transit\n\nStock awaiting QC\n\nStock on hold\n\nStock available for fulfilment.\n\nThe role must ensure that the business does not confuse physical stock with available-to-sell stock.\n\n. INVENTORY AGEING & SLOW-MOVING STOCK\n\nThe Inventory Manager will:\n\nProduce inventory ageing reports.\n\nIdentify slow-moving and non-moving SKUs.\n\nIdentify products approaching expiry.\n\nMonitor excess inventory.\n\nFlag products at risk of spoilage.\n\nWork with Procurement and Commercial teams on inventory liquidation plans.\n\nRecommend replenishment adjustments based on ageing.\n\nTrack inventory carrying risk.\n\nFor perishables, the role should provide early warnings before inventory becomes a waste or margin problem.\n\n. SHRINKAGE, LOSSES & INVENTORY DISCREPANCIES\n\nThe Inventory Manager will own the inventory investigation, while the Warehouse Manager owns corrective action relating to physical warehouse processes.\n\nInvestigate: Missing stock, Unauthorised stock issues, Wrong quantities, Mis-picks, Wrong put-away, Damaged stock, Expired stock, Unrecorded returns, Receiving discrepancies, System posting errors\n\nSupplier shortages, Internal stock movements.\n\nMaintain a Shrinkage & Variance Register showing:\nField\n\nRequirement\n\nSKU\n\nProduct identification\n\nSystem Qty\n\nBook quantity\n\nPhysical Qty\n\nCounted quantity\n\nVariance\n\nDifference\n\nValue\n\n₦ impact\n\nRoot Cause\n\nReason\n\nResponsible Process\n\nWhere failure occurred\n\nAction\n\nCorrective action\n\nOwner\n\nResponsible person\n\nStatus\n\nOpen/Closed\n\n. INVENTORY SYSTEM & ERP CONTROL\n\nThe Inventory Manager will be responsible for inventory data integrity in the ERP/WMS.\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\nMaintaining accurate SKU master data.\n\nEnsuring inventory transactions are posted correctly.\n\nMonitoring stock movement records.\n\nReviewing unusual inventory adjustments.\n\nEnsuring approved returns are properly recorded.\n\nEnsuring system balances reflect physical realities.\n\nProducing reliable inventory reports.\n\nSupporting ERP/WMS improvement projects.\n\nThe role is the custodian of inventory data integrity.\n\n. INVENTORY & PROCUREMENT COORDINATION\n\nThe Inventory Manager will work closely with Procurement to provide:\n\nCurrent stock position\n\nStock availability\n\nDays On Hand\n\nStockout risk\n\nReorder requirements\n\nSlow-moving stock\n\nExcess stock\n\nSupplier-related shortages\n\nInventory ageing\n\nRecommended replenishment priorities.\n\n0.
