We are currently recruiting to fill the following position:\nJob Description\nPRIDE Industries\nJob Description\nJob: Floor/Utility Technician\nJob Code: H95 - SE-Floor/Utility Tech\nFLSA Status: Non-Exempt\nApproval Date: March 2018\nWage is a range depending on benefit eligibility $25.78 to $29.78 per hour\nSUPERVISES: There are no direct reports with this position.\nPOSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision the Floor/Utility Technician is responsible for the cleaning and restoring of tile, carpet and other flooring surfaces. Employees in this job class perform stripping, waxing, scrubbing, buffing, carpet cleaning and other restorative tasks for assigned areas. This job class requires knowledge of floor care equipment, materials, procedures and the ability perform quality work in a safe manner at all times.\nTYPICAL DUTIES: 1. *Schedule required or requested floor tasks with supervisor or lead2. *Inspect and prepare necessary equipment and chemicals required for scheduled procedures3. *Complete necessary floor tasks, followed by a quality review of project4. *Properly secure all equipment at completion of tasks5. *Request necessary repairs, install local out tag when required6. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.\n*Denotes Essential Job Function\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\nOne year of custodial work experience;\nAbility to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from customers and others;\nAbility to read and follow written instructions on labels for proper and safe use of chemicals, supplies and equipment;\nAbility to learn to use specialized departmental equipment including that used in custodial services such as scrubbers and buffers;\nAbility to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests;\nEffective written communication skills using appropriate business English;\nComputer literacy to use business software, the Internet, enter data/retrieve data;\nHuman relations skills to build effective working relationships;\nDemonstrated customer service, problem solving and common sense skills.\nEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:\nNot Applicable\nCERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:\nThe following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:\nValid Driver's License\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nEmployees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:\nManeuvering in and around the worksite\nStanding and walking\nBending, kneeling, reaching, and stooping\nLifting boxes or equipment weighing up to 35 pounds, and up to 50 pounds occasionally\nPushing or pulling objects such as vacuums, carts, mops, etc.\nMay be required to push/pull equipment weighing up to 70 pounds\nGrasping both small & large objects\nClimbing ladders and/or step stools\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nWork is performed in an office environment, or at a customer’s location, such as a commissary environment, a federal courthouse, or a military base.
