We are currently recruiting to fill the following position:\nJob Description\nPRIDE Industries\nJob Description\nJob: Floor/Utility Technician Lead\nJob Code: L30 - VG-Floor/Utility TechLead\nFLSA Status: Non-Exempt\nApproval Date: August 2017\nSUPERVISES: There are no direct reports with this position.\nPOSITION SUMMARY: Under limited supervision the Floor/Utility Technician Lead oversees floor care and project operations and daily staff activities at a large commercial or federal facility. Employees in this job class are responsible for the cleaning, stripping, waxing, scrubbing, buffing and restoring of tile, carpet and other flooring surfaces for assigned areas. This job class requires knowledge of floor care practices, floor care equipment, materials, supplies and procedures; the ability to work with developmentally disabled and/or physically challenged adults; and requires personnel to perform quality work in a safe manner at all times.\nTYPICAL DUTIES: 1. *Schedules required or requested floor tasks or project tasks with supervisor. 2. *Inspect and prepare necessary equipment and chemicals required for scheduled procedures. Prioritizes and assigns tasks and coaches floor techs in performance duties.3. *Complete necessary floor or periodic project tasks, followed by a quality review of project. Inspects work areas on a regular basis, including outside grounds to ensure quality if included in the work area.4. *Properly secure all equipment at completion of tasks. Trains and assists floor techs in performing duties, and in the safe and proper use of cleaning products, scrubbers, buffers, pressure washers, and other floor care equipment to meet quality and safety standards.5. *Request necessary repairs and remove unsafe or broken equipment. Oversees the waxing and buffing of floors on a regular basis.6. *Oversees the cleaning and maintenance of floor care and pressure washing equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper operation and safe condition.7. *Order and maintain quantities of supplies, stock, and equipment.8. *Oversees floor techs performance and quality of work in facilities. 9. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.\n*Denotes Essential Job Functions\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\nAt least one year of floor care work experience;\nAbility to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from customers and others;\nAbility to read and follow written instructions on labels for proper and safe use of chemicals, supplies, and equipment;\nExperience working with adults with developmental disabilities and/or physical challenges preferred;\nAbility to train employees in proper departmental practices and procedures, including safety and proper use of tools and equipment;\nAbility to learn to use specialized departmental equipment including that used in custodial services such as scrubbers and buffers;\nKnowledge of Cal OSHA occupational safety regulations;\nKnowledge of departmental operations, procedures, and organizational policies;\nAbility to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from team, customers and others;\nEffective written communication skills using appropriate business English;\nHuman relations skills to maintain effective working relationships with team;\nEffective customer service skills;\nIntermediate computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;\nBasic mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division;\nDemonstrated customer service, problem solving and common sense skills.\nEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:\nNot Applicable\nCERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:\nThe following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:\nValid Driver's License\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nEmployees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:\nManeuvering in and around the worksite\nStanding and walking\nBending, kneeling, reaching, and stooping\nLifting boxes or equipment weighing up to 35 pounds, and up to 50 pounds occasionally\nPushing or pulling objects such as vacuums, carts, mops, etc.\nMay be required to push/pull equipment weighing up to 70 pounds\nGrasping both small & large objects\nClimbing ladders and/or step stools\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nWork is performed in an office environment, or at a customer’s location, such as a commissary environment, a federal courthouse, or a military base.
