We are currently recruiting to fill the following position:AbilityOne\nN/AJob Description\nPRIDE Industries\nJob Description\nJob: HVAC Tech I\nJob Code: R30 - BL-HVAC Tech I\nSCAOccup: 23410 Heating, Ventilation, and AC Mechanic\nSalary Grade: Federal Wage Determination or Collective Bargaining Agreement\nFLSA Status: Non-Exempt\nApproval Date: March 2019\nSUPERVISES:\nThere are no direct reports with this position.\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nUnder general supervision, The HVAC I (Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning) I technician performs various technical work repairing, replacement, and installation of HVAC equipment to include furnaces, heat pumps, package units, split systems, ranging from residential HVAC/R equipment to light commercial equipment. Duties also consist on performing maintenance and being knowledgeable on the fundamentals of refrigeration equipment.\nTYPICAL DUTIES:\n1. *Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various residential and light commercial HVAC equipment.\n2. *Cut and bend tubing to correct length and shape.\n3. *Utilize skills in plumbing, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and refrigeration systems.\n4. *Observe and interpret refrigeration pressures and vacuum gauges and adjusts controls to ensure proper operation. Able to perform recovery and vacuum.\n5. *Test joints and connections for gas leaks.\n6. *Wrap pipes in insulation batting and secures them in place.\n7. *Replace defective Controls, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units.\n8. Repair and replace residential and light commercial evaporative A/C units.\n9. *Repair and replace residential and light commercial heating systems.\n10. * Ensure PRIDE safety policies and procedures are followed.\n11. *Respond to EMERGENCY calls after work hours.\n12. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.\n* Denotes Essential Job Function\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\n- One to three years of field experience servicing residential and light commercial HVAC equipment;\n- Able to use industry hand and machine tools (i.e. vacuum pumps, refrigeration gauges);\n- Ability to read, interpret and work from schematics and written instructions;\n- Proficient in electrical trouble shooting (i.e. single phase and three phase motors, compressors, contactors, relays and sensors)\nEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:\nNot Applicable\nCERTIFICATES REQUIRED:\nThe following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirments.\nEPA Certification\nR410A Safety\nValid Driver's License\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nEmployees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:\nManeuvering to, in, and around equipment.\nBending, kneeling, stooping and reaching.\nClimbing steps tools or ladders.\nLifting and moving heavy equipment up to 35 pounds.\nClimbing ladders to gain access to roof top equipment\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\n Work is performed at a customer’s location in office, shop, warehouse, or outdoor environment. May require driving to and from worksite locations. Equipment can be located in crawl spaces, rooftops, and outside facility.
