We are currently recruiting to fill the following position:\nAbilityOne\nN/AJob Description\nPRIDE Industries\nJob Description\nJob: Road and Grounds Supervisor\nJob Code: Q22 - BL-Supvr Rd/Grnds-PSMS\nSalary Grade: NSF\nFLSA Status: Non-Exempt\nApproval Date: August 2017\nSUPERVISES: There are direct reports with this position.\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nUnder broad supervision, the Roads and Grounds Supervisor plans and manages staff activities related to the management of all roads, grounds and landscaping functions and related facilities support buildings on a federal installation. Employees in this job class manage the delivery of maintenance and repairs to roads, grounds, airfields and firebreaks. This job class requires knowledge of preventative and corrective maintenance programs for roads and grounds.\nTYPICAL DUTIES: 1. *Plans, organizes and manages contractually provided delivery of maintenance and repairs services for roads both paved and unpaved, buildings and other infrastructure components. Provides for quality control, inventory management, record keeping, and management reporting. 2. *Manages compliance with contract terms, conditions and obligations. Develops a professional working relationship with key contract personnel, and establishes official lines of communication.3. *Supervises employees; ensures a competent, motivated team through hiring, training, development, counseling and reviewing the performance of employees. 4. *Develops and implements Preventative and Corrective Maintenance programs for the equipment and systems associated with roads and grounds.5. *Ensures Corrective Maintenance is entered and accounted for in the Contract Management System.6. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.\n*Denotes Essential Job Function\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\nThree or more years of experience in facilities maintenance, roads and ground support functions including one year in a supervisory role;\nKnowledge of vehicle maintenance practices and techniques including federal and state codes, laws and regulations governing the maintenance of vehicles;\nSupervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes effectively, and address employee relations appropriately;\nAbility to effectively supervise and develop assigned team to meet production/service goals while adhering to safety policies and rules;\nEffective oral and written communication skills using appropriate business English;\nDemonstrated leadership, organizational, common sense and problem solving skills;\nHuman relation skills to build effective relationships with team and customers;\nEffective customer service skills;\nIntermediate computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;\nKnowledge of business English including vocabulary and spelling;\nFundamental mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division;\nAbility to establish priorities and solve operational problems;\nFlexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.\nEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:\nHigh School Diploma or GED\nCERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:\nThe following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements.\nClassA License\nHazmat End\nFed Security Clearance\nValid Driver's License\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:\nManeuvering over uneven ground\nManeuvering in, around, and on equipment\nClimbing and working from high platforms\nReaching, pushing, and pulling gears to operate levers, and steering wheel\nBending, stooping, and reaching\nLifting or moving tools, equipment and/or materials up to 50 pounds\nWORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed at a customer’s location on job sites in a construction environment with various tools, and mechanical, electrical and construction equipment. Transporting to work locations within the site. At times, may be required to work in confined spaces. Employees may be exposed to hazardous equipment, toxic substances, noise from equipment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat.
