An 8-month term is preferred; however, candidates available for a 4-month term will also be considered.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign and AutoCAD drafting of underground and overhead medium voltage electrical distribution infrastructure (4kV – 25kV). \nMaterial take-offs and project estimating.\nTransformer loading, voltage drop, and cable pull calculations.\nReviewing 3rd party drawings such as civil, architectural, landscape, and on-site electrical to coordinate and eliminate design conflicts.\nCreating and updating automation macros using VBA programming.\nPreparing technical documentation.\nSite visits to inspect civil and electrical power infrastructure.\nProject schedule management and tracking.\nResearch and application of engineering standards and codes.\nDesign coordination with customers, municipal authorities, other utilities & various project stakeholders.\nAssess the potential system impacts and costs relating to electrical and telecom utility servicing\nOther duties as required.\nQualifications:\nSuccessful completion of at least one year of an engineering program at an accredited university or college (electrical or civil preferred, but others will be considered).\nStrong collaborative skills and willingness to liaise with other roles (project managers, designers, drafters, materials and construction vendors, survey, and marketing) to ensure projects are accurate, compliant, on time, and on budget.\nExperience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office 365.\nExperience working in the civil or electric utility industry.\nFamiliarity with BC Hydro design and construction standards would be an asset.\n Additional Assets:\nGreat interpersonal skills with the ability to develop business relationships conducted in a professional manner.\nDemonstrated self-motivation and drive for improvement.\nAbility to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.\nClass 5 driver’s
