\nPerform pre-trip inspections on assigned equipment daily. \nResponsible for keeping equipment in optimum operating condition by coordinating maintenance and repair with on-staff fleet mechanics. \nEnsure safe and steady production of the work. \nExcavate utility trenches, sand pad, and backfill. \nSwitch attachments on equipment in a safe manner and ensure all attachments are accounted for with the machine. \nCompact with hoe-pack and/or rapid ram on trench lines and concrete pad installations. \nHandle aggregate with loader. \nBe able to slope and bank trench lines according to OH&S safe trenching. \nHandle mechanical loading/unloading of electrical materials as required. \nClean and lubricate equipment. \nAssist in field labor as required. \nDemonstrate technical ability and application of appropriate processes and procedures. \nAssist and participate in safety meetings and assist with incident reporting and investigations as required. \nOther duties as required. \nQualifications: \nMechanical aptitude and familiarity with excavation equipment. \nGood hand-eye coordination and dexterity in operating controls. \nUnderstand grading markers and line assignments for work planning. \nUnderstanding of locate markers and locate slip reading. \nKnowledge of civil construction, blueprint reading, and following specifications guidelines. \nAbility to work within a team environment. \nPromotion of safe work practices. \nGood communication skills both verbal and written. \nA few qualifications that would help you succeed: \nPrevious experience is an asset. \nValid Driver’s License and Driver’s abstract in good standing. \nMinimum 2000 hours of experience working with similar or the same
