This includes the setup, execution and tear-down of all banquet and banquet related events. The Banquet Captain stays in contact with the on-site contact through the event to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction.\nResponsibilities:\nCoordinates all aspects of the room/facilities setup and Food & Beverage service in accordance with the BEO (Banquet Event Order).\nAssists in the setup of all Audio/Visual equipment.\nAssists in managing the banquet servers, bartenders, setup team and housekeeper.\nConducts lineup with the staff at the start of each event. Inspects uniforms, reviews assignments, and steps of service for each event.\nGreets on-site contact for assigned event(s) and stays in contact through the event(s).\nKnowledgeable of the menu for each function served and can explain the major ingredients and preparation methods for each item to be served.\nResponsible for the training of all new Banquet associates.\nResolves guest complaints within scope of authority, otherwise refers the matter to the Assistant Banquet Manager/ Banquet Manager.\nAttends weekly BEO meeting.\nEnforces hotel policies and procedures.\nQualifications\nRequirements:\nMust have management and/or supervisory experience\nExcellent communication, guest service and time management skills\nMust be able to organize, plan ahead and manage workload\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced and multi-tasked environment\nMust have a positive and professional upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to our guests\nMust be dependable and energetic\nMust have previous restaurant and/or banquet related experience\nBartending experience preferred\nAudio Visual experience preferred\nMust be flexible regarding scheduling as it is based on business demands\nPhysical Requirements:\nThis position requires constant standing and walking. Frequent bending, squatting, handling and grasping. Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs. Pushing and pulling and average weight of 97lbs.
