We are looking for a senior, hands-on hardware engineer to become the technical owner of our robotic hardware in the United States.\nOur immediate priorities are improving the electrical design of our robots and solving difficult problems occurring at customer sites. This is not a management-only position. You will personally inspect robots, diagnose failures, test solutions, review designs, and work with our China engineering team to implement permanent improvements.\nOver time, you will help define and build Prime’s US hardware engineering capability.\nWhat You’ll Do\nPersonally lead troubleshooting of robot failures at customer sites and in Prime’s Denver lab.\nDiagnose intermittent and system-level problems involving power, grounding, EMI/EMC, sensors, motor controllers, embedded computers, wiring, and communications.\nUse oscilloscopes, power analyzers, bus analyzers, logs, and controlled testing to move from symptoms to verified root causes.\nImprove Prime’s 48V/24V electrical architecture, power distribution, protection, grounding, harnessing, connectors, and PCB designs.\nEvaluate and integrate robotic sensors such as LiDAR, cameras, encoders, proximity sensors, safety devices, and other industrial I/O.\nDebug communication among sensors, controllers, motor drives, and computers using Ethernet, CAN, RS485, and related protocols.\nWork directly with field technicians to reproduce failures and create practical diagnostic and repair procedures.\nTranslate field findings into design requirements and corrective actions for Prime’s China engineering and manufacturing teams.\nReview schematics, PCB layouts, harnesses, component selections, and system architecture.\nDevelop validation tests that reflect real warehouse conditions, including vibration, temperature, electrical noise, and continuous operation.\nHelp define Prime’s next-generation robot controller and electrical platform.\nEstablish the technical practices and hiring plan for a future US hardware engineering team.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nDuring your first year, you will:\nBecome the primary US technical escalation point for robot hardware problems.\nIdentify and permanently correct Prime’s most consequential electrical and sensor-related failures.\nImprove the speed and quality of field diagnosis.\nEstablish a repeatable process connecting field failures to engineering changes and validation.\nImprove electrical design standards across the US and China teams.\nDefine a practical roadmap for Prime’s next-generation robot hardware.\nRecommend which additional US engineering capabilities Prime should build.\nRequirements\nWhat You Bring\n10+ years developing or troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems.\nHands-on experience with mobile robots, AGVs/AMRs, industrial automation, autonomous vehicles, or similarly complex equipment.\nStrong electrical systems expertise, including power distribution, grounding, EMI/EMC, protection, wiring, and PCB-level diagnosis.\nExperience integrating and debugging sensors, motor controllers, embedded computers, and industrial communications.\nProven ability to diagnose failures that cross electrical, embedded, mechanical, and software boundaries.\nComfort working directly on equipment using test instruments, schematics, logs, and controlled experiments.\nExperience turning field failures into verified design improvements.\nThe ability to lead technical work across international engineering and manufacturing teams.\nClear communication with engineers, technicians, suppliers, and company leadership.\nExperience with battery systems, motor drives, harsh environments, industrial safety standards, Linux, embedded firmware, or Chinese engineering and manufacturing teams is particularly valuable.\nThe Reality of the Role\nPrime does not currently have a US hardware engineering team for this person to inherit. Initially, you will be the senior engineer doing the work-not simply delegating it.\nThe right person will enjoy moving between the warehouse floor, electronics bench, design review, and conversations with international engineering partners. As Prime’s US hardware capability grows, this role may expand into broader team leadership.\nThis position is based onsite at Prime’s Lakewood and Denver, Colorado facilities and requires travel to customer locations when hands-on investigation is necessary.\nThe expected base salary range is $180,000-$240,000 annually, plus equity and benefits, depending on experience and capabilities.\nPrime Robotics is an equal opportunity employer and participates in E-Verify.\nBenefits\nEmployer-subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance plans to support your health and wellbeing.\nDedicated vacation and sick leave that allows you to recharge and take care of yourself when needed. \nInvaluable hands-on experience with cutting-edge robotics technology that keeps your skills at the industry forefront.\nA collaborative culture where innovation thrives and your work has a real impact.\nThe excitement of contributing to transformative technology in a fast-growing industry.","description_format":"text","description_chars":5184,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":10,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity","Vision insurance"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Warehousing","Logistics & Warehouse Robotics"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-02-27T00:00:00Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":7,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.262,"p_room":0.28,"age_days":232,"expected_fill_days":27,"reasons":["conf:5","win:tail","crowd:"],"computed_at":"2026-10-17T05:46:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":240000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/prime-robotics-principal-hardware-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/prime-robotics-principal-hardware-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-18T04:39:33Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":6943,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-19T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":8015},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=8015"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fprime-robotics-principal-hardware-engineer"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fprime-robotics-principal-hardware-engineer"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fprime-robotics-principal-hardware-engineer"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/prime-robotics-principal-hardware-engineer\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fprime-robotics-principal-hardware-engineer"}]}
