Come build the future of pharmacy with us.\nJob Posting Title\nDirector Underwriting - RemoteJob Description\nThe Director, Underwriting is responsible for leading multiple underwriting teams and driving pricing strategy, financial analysis, and competitive proposal development. This position oversees underwriting operations across client segments while ensuring financial performance, market competitiveness, and consistent underwriting practices. The Director partners across the organization to influence business strategy, support growth objectives, and deliver sustainable financial outcomes.\nResponsibilities\nProvides both strategic direction and day to day guidance to underwriting managers to maintain expert underwriting support and meet the needs of the organization\nWorks with Blue Plan Underwriting and Sales Executive leadership to develop, drive, and execute ASO pricing and margin strategies\nOversees and coordinates workflow for the underwriting team\nWorks with proposal unit to ensure responses, including pertinent definitions and caveats, for the financial responses to all RFPs are complete and accurate\nConsults with Legal and Client Engagement to ensure, contractual deal terms, caveats, and other pertinent information is accurate and supports the deal as underwritten\nEnsures standard operating procedures are adhered to and that all bids are properly tracked and documented; Collaborates with management on staffing plans, productivity metrics and initiatives to improve efficiencies within the department\nProvides direct support and consultation to Blue Plan Leadership\nOther duties as assigned\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Finance or related are of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED required\n8 years of underwriting, healthcare finance, pricing, consulting, actuarial, or related experience\n5 years of leadership/people management experience\nMust be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship\nAdditional Qualifications\nAdvanced underwriting and financial acumen, including application of business mathematics, algebra, discounts, percentages, and analytical modeling to develop pricing and underwriting solutions\nExecutive-level communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for diverse audiences\nProven ability to influence, persuade, and gain alignment from senior and executive leaders on pricing strategies, underwriting methodologies, and business initiatives\nStrong relationship management, customer-focused collaboration, and partnership skills with internal stakeholders, Blue Plans, and prospective clients to achieve growth and margin objectives\nSkilled negotiator capable of navigating complex, high-stakes discussions with external partners and challenging stakeholders to advance strategic business outcomes\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Economics, or related field\nPBM, healthcare payer, managed care, or healthcare consulting experience\nExperience leading enterprise pricing or underwriting initiatives\nExperience supporting executive-level client relationships\nDemonstrated success leading transformational change initiatives, influencing business decisions, and financial outcomes\nEvery employee must understand, comply with and attest to the security responsibilities and security controls unique to their job, and comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements and internal policies and procedures\nEvery employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and, if requested, reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions, absent undue hardship.
