Provides guidance and direction for less experienced purchasing staff.\nWhat You Will Do\nContinually develop strong rapport with vendors and subcontractors that support PRIME\nParticipate in project kick-off meetings to exert a shaping influence at an early stage and to optimize internal workflows and processes\nConfer with both project managers’ requests and vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule\nKeep information accessible by filing documents in an organized manner\nEnsure adherence to the company’s documented purchasing processes\nIssue and manage purchase orders for approved requisitions and contracts, supporting a variety of departments\nPartner with Accounts Payable in setting up new vendors and resolving invoicing issues as they pertain to purchasing\nEnsure accuracy of costs and accounting codes through strong attention to detail\nRequest quotes and negotiates prices with suppliers\nKnowledgeable of the process for acquisition of permits\nSuggest and implement cost-savings ideas\nEffectively communicate with all stakeholders\nAdhere to the PRIME Safety Program, complying with safety regulations, procedures and safe work practices\nMaintain a physical presence onsite and provide assistance to specific groups, managers and project management teams as needed\nPerform other duties as requested; duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice\nWhat You Will Need to be Successful\nAssociate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience\nKnowledage of electrical systems (switch gear and lighting) and electrical subcontractors\nProficient with Microsoft Office products\nStrong communication, leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills\nProficient in providing best-value analysis\nAbility to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities\nAbility to elicit cooperation from senior management and other departments\nAbility to learn and utilize REMARCABLE Purchasing and Vista Accounting software\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nMay coordinate the work of others who assist in specific assignments\nSpecial Requirements/Physical Demands/Working Conditions\nWork is primarily performed in an office setting with minimal health or safety hazards. Noise level and temperature is moderate. Minimal lifting or climbing. Some travel such as, but not limited to, other offices, work sites and local business errands.
