We are building a pipeline of mid-level Data Engineers who can contribute inside client sprint teams from day one.\nYou will work directly with client engineering, analytics, and product teams to build and maintain data pipelines, integrations, APIs, and data products. This is hands-on delivery work. You will take tickets, write production code, participate in code review, troubleshoot issues, and communicate clearly with a distributed team.\nWhat you'll do\nBuild and maintain data pipelines using Python and SQL\nDevelop integrations with internal systems and third-party APIs\nTransform, validate, and model data for analytics and operational use\nInvestigate data-quality issues and improve reliability, observability, and performance\nWrite clean, tested, and maintainable code and contribute through Git-based workflows\nWork within a US client's sprint cadence: standups, planning, tickets, pull requests, and delivery deadlines\nCollaborate clearly in English across engineering, data teams, and business stakeholders\nRequirements\n These are the baseline requirements for this role.\n2-3 years professional software or data engineering experience\nStrong Python skills, including writing clean, modular, testable code\nStrong SQL skills beyond basic queries: joins, CTEs, window functions, agreegations, query debugging, and performance awareness\nExperience building or maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, data integrations, or backend services\nSolid understanding of data quality: validation, reconciliation, error handling, and repeatable processing\nDemonstrates sound judgment using AI-assisted development tools: able to validate outputs, protect sensitive information, and retain ownership of delivered work\nStrong written and spoken English\nAble to work independently, ask good questions, and communicate blockers early.\nValuable experience\nYou do not need every item below. Strong candidates will have depth in some of these areas and the ability to learn the rest\nDatabricks, Spark, Delta Lake, or similar data-platform tools\ndbt, Airflow, Prefect, or other orchestration tools\nCloud data services in Azure, AWS, or GCP\nData warehouse and lakehouse environments\nFast API or other Python API frameworks\nDocker and CI/CD workflows\nData modeling for analytics oroperational reporting\nAI-enabled data applications, including RAG, Azure AI Search, LangChain, or LangGraph\nWhat success looks like\nWithin your first months on a client team, you can:\nPick up a ticket and move it to completion with appropriate guidance\nWrite Python and SQL that another engineer can review and maintain\nTrace a data issue through a pipeline and explain what broke\nCommunicate progress, risks, and questions clearly\nEarn trust through consistency, quality, and follow through\nHow we work with AI\nAI is part of modern software delivery at Primeforge.
