You take kids seriously, build deep relationships with families, and create a stable, joyful, consistent learning environment.\nThis is not a traditional classroom job. It blends instructional leadership, operations management, family partnership, and culture creation. You teach literacy, math, execute Pursuits that are a cross of science and social studies, and manage the daily rhythm of your cohort.\nThis work requires ownership, judgment, follow-through, and comfortability making decisions on your own. You are the quarterback of your classroom and a core member of the campus team.\nResponsibilities\nStudent and Family Experience\nBuild and uphold Primer’s Take Kids Seriously culture\n\nKnow every student’s academic level, strengths, and needs\n\nBuild trusting relationships with families\n\nMaintain a classroom culture where students feel respected, known, and safe\n\nCreate a predictable, well-run environment every day\n\nInstructional and Program Ownership\n\nK-2: Teach daily lessons in reading, writing, and math through small-group instruction\n\n3-8: Teach daily literacy lessons, provide instructional support as students work through an individualized digital math curriculum, and partner closely with math Content Teachers to drive individual progress.\n\nKnow where every student is in math and literacy: pacing, mastery, misconceptions\n\nComfortably use our school’s operations digital platform to monitor student progress and keep the day running smoothly\n\nRun high-quality Pursuits, Primer’s interdisciplinary curriculum for applied learning\n\nFollow a predictable daily schedule and keep students on track\n\nReview and respond to student data weekly\n\nLead parent conferences throughout the year\n\nSupport on-going admissions by running prospective family campus tours\n\nOperational Excellence\nShare regular classroom updates with families and your campus team\n\nParticipate in daily staff check-ins and weekly team communications\n\nKeep the classroom organized, safe, and optimized for learning\n\nEnsure students consistently follow school routines and expectations, including uniforms\n\nFollow all school safety procedures, including emergency drills and incident protocols\n\nRespond promptly to operational needs, requests, and school workflows\n\nCommunication and Team Collaboration\nCommunicate proactively with families and teammates\n\nAsk early questions and avoid assumptions\n\nCollaborate with teammates for coverage and problem-solving\n\nRespond constructively to feedback\n\nMaintain a consistent, calm presence that supports the entire campus\n\nWhat we’re looking for\nYou have a bachelor’s degree or higher.\n\nYou have 3+ years experience as a lead teacher, homeschooling parent or child care provider for K-8 kids.\n\nStrong communication with students, families, and teammates\n\nAbility to create a calm, structured, positive classroom environment\n\nOrganized, prepared, and able to keep routines running smoothly\n\nComfort using technology for instruction and tracking student progress\n\nGood judgment, especially in fast-paced situations\n\nCollaboration first - willing to problem-solve with others and ask questions early\n\nProactive mindset: anticipates challenges and addresses small issues before they grow\n\nWhy this role may not be a fit\nYou want to run your own school outside of Primer’s model\n\nYou rely on large teams or heavy direction\n\nYou struggle to make decisions quickly\n\nYou prefer strict rules instead of clear systems\n\nYou avoid difficult conversations\n\nYou resist technology or digital tools\n\nYou default to personal philosophy instead of Primer’s\n\nIn accordance with Florida law, all educators in the state of Florida are required to be fingerprinted through the Florida Clearinghouse system.\nPrimer is a mission-first company.
