We specialize in the design, procurement, and construction management of mineral processing plants.\nThe Mechanical & Piping Engineer will play a key role in delivering mechanical engineering design and technical support for studies and detailed engineering projects within the mining and heavy industrial sectors. This role reports directly to the Lead Discipline Mechanical.\nWorking as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will contribute to the development of mechanical systems with a strong focus on material handling systems, platework design, plant layout, and piping coordination. This role offers the opportunity to be involved throughout the full project lifecycle - from studies and design development through procurement, construction, and commissioning.\nThe role is ideal for a hands-on and adaptable engineer who enjoys working across both mechanical and piping-related scopes, collaborating with internal teams, clients, vendors, and site personnel to deliver high-quality down-to-earth environment.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDeliver mechanical engineering design and calculations for mining and heavy industrial projects, with a strong focus on material handling systems, plant layout, platework, conveyors, pumps, and related equipment\nContribute to the development and coordination of 3D plant layouts in collaboration with piping, structural, electrical, and process disciplines\nSupport piping design and coordination activities, including routing, layout integration, and interdisciplinary coordination\nPrepare and review engineering deliverables such as datasheets, specifications, calculations, scopes of work, equipment lists, schematics, and technical reports\nCoordinate with vendors, clients, designers, and multidisciplinary teams throughout design and procurement phases\nSupport and guide designers/drafters in the development of plant and system designs using 2D and 3D CAD tools\nParticipate in technical bid evaluations, vendor reviews, and equipment selection activities\nReview client specifications and technical documentation to support practical, efficient, and maintainable design solutions\nRecommend design improvements to optimize quality, operability, and project execution\nSupport project execution activities including field support, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting when required\nContribute across both mechanical and piping-related scopes depending on project and business needs\nWhat we’re looking for:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering\nMember of a Professional Engineering association (or eligible for registration), with preference given to candidates eligible for the OIQ\n3 to 7 years of experience in a similar role within the mineral processing or mining sectors, with experience in heavy industrial plant environments considered an asset\nExperience supporting detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning activities, including onsite exposure\nStrong experience with plant layout and material handling systems in mining or industrial environments\nGood understanding of piping systems design and interdisciplinary coordination\nExperience preparing mechanical engineering deliverables for engineering studies and projects\nSolid understanding of applicable engineering standards, codes, and regulations\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation\nCurious, motivated, and eager to continue learning and developing your skills\nHumble, collaborative, and open to feedback, with a team-first mindset\nComfortable working in a collaborative environment where technical discussions and team exchanges are part of day-to-day work\nExcellent communication skills (oral and written)\nProactive and solutions-oriented, with the equipment such as chutes, bins, hoppers, and transfer points\nExperience working in an EPCM environment, particularly with piping layout integration and coordination\nFamiliarity with CAD software and
