As an independent advocate and trusted partner during healthcare’s most challenging moments, our team of experts work alongside physicians to orchestrate the best treatment, advocacy, and support to deliver measurably better outcomes. \nEveryone deserves great care. We make sure they get it. \nAbout the Role \nThe Security Analyst is a hands-on member of the InfoSec team within PHM’s Technology Department. This role will own significant portions of the day-to-day security operations program, including security monitoring, incident response, access governance, vulnerability management, vendor risk, audit evidence, and cloud and SaaS security. \nThis role is designed to add execution depth to a growing security program and reduce dependence on a single person for both strategy and operations. The analyst will have meaningful ownership and broad exposure across the security function, with the opportunity to improve how issues are prevented, investigated, documented, and resolved. \nWhat You’llAccomplish \nEstablish a continuous compliance evidence process where recurring control activities have clear owners and due dates, evidence is captured as work happens, and SOC 2 Type II and HITRUST i1 assessments can be supported without a last-minute evidence sprint. \nReduce recurring misdirection incidents by using observed patterns to improve DLP and external send controls and by partnering with owning teams to address upstream workflow causes. \nBuild reliable access governance by verifying provisioning and deprovisioning, identifying and removing dormant or excessive access on a recurring cycle, reviewing privileged access on schedule, and validating MSP handoffs rather than assuming completion. \nHow You’llSpend Your Days \nSecurity Monitoring and Investigation \nInvestigate detections and suspicious activity across CrowdStrike Falcon, Okta, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Microsoft Purview, Zscaler, Box, KnowBe4, and related systems. Form hypotheses, work through incomplete telemetry, document findings clearly, and escalate when business or legal judgment is required. \nRisk and Remediation \nPrioritize vulnerabilities, security findings, access issues, and control gaps based on exploitability and business impact. Drive remediation with internal teams, the MSP, and vendors even when you do not directly control the work. \nSecurity Operations and Governance \nMaintain provisioning verification, access reviews, vendor security reviews, DLP monitoring, security ticket workflows, and recurring control activities. Help strengthen runbooks and operating processes so knowledge becomes repeatable and self service. \nDetection, Cloud, and Compliance \nImprove detection coverage and logging across CrowdStrike NG SIEM and other platforms, support cloud security work in Azure and AKS, and maintain audit ready evidence for SOC 2 and HITRUST. Contribute to vendor assessments, security terms, and AI policy monitoring as needed. \nWhat You Bring to the Table \nRequired \nStrong investigative reasoning. You can work from incomplete information, form and test hypotheses, determine what matters first, and make sound escalation decisions even when ideal logs or context are unavailable. \nPractical risk prioritization. You evaluate exploitability, business impact, exposure, and operational reality rather than relying only on severity scores or checklists. \nClear written communication. You can produce incident documentation and audit evidence that others can rely on, and you can translate technical findings into concise communication for nontechnical leaders. \nStrong ownership and judgment. You can drive work across teams and vendors that do not report to you, follow through when progress stalls, make appropriate operational decisions independently, and recognize when a determination belongs with security leadership or Legal. \nNice to Have \nAn automation instinct and experience using tools such as Python or PowerShell to eliminate repetitive operational work. \nDetection engineering depth, including writing and tuning queries and thinking about coverage against adversary behavior rather than alert volume alone. \nPrior experience as a systems administrator or IT generalist, with practical knowledge of identity, endpoints, SaaS integrations, securing AI platforms, and how remediation affects real environments. \nExperience with audit or GRC programs, SOC 2 evidence review, vendor security assessments, CAIQ responses, DPA or BAA security terms, or critical review of third party assurance reports. \nCompensation \nThe target base salary for this position is $110000 - $140000. \nThis base salary is only a part of a total compensation package that also includes: health/dental/vision benefits, annual cash incentive program, 401k with match, flexible PTO, PHM for PHM (our services for you and your dependents) and other benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range as a number of factors including market forces, experience, location, disparities in market data and other relevant business considerations may all factor into final compensation. \nLocation \nThis is a remote role requiring that you live in and physically perform all work in the United States. \nNext Steps \nPrivate Health Management is a remote company with employees across the United States. If your application is selected for next steps, you’ll hear from a member of our recruiting team about the interview process, which may include conversations with the hiring manager, peers, and department leaders, conducted virtually by Zoom or phone. \nPHM may use AI-enabled tools at certain points in the recruiting process to help us review candidates consistently and give more qualified applicants an opportunity to be considered beyond their resume. AI tools may support parts of the process, but they do not make hiring decisions. All hiring decisions are made by human reviewers. \nHave a quick question about the role or our process?
