In this role, you will be a key player in designing, building, and maintaining the scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure that underpins all of our products and services. You will collaborate closely with software development teams to enhance developer experience, automate deployments, and ensure our platforms meet the highest standards of performance and availability. This is a high-impact, strategic role perfect for someone who enjoys solving complex problems at scale and empowering engineering teams to deliver exceptional software.\nWhat you’ll do:\nDesign and Architect: Lead the design and architecture of scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native platforms and infrastructure on cloud platforms like AWS and GCP.\n Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop, manage, and champion the use of IaC tools like Terraform and Crossplane to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.\nCI/CD and Automation: Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD to automate the build, testing, and deployment of applications, enabling faster and more reliable software delivery.\nContainerization and Orchestration: Manage and scale our containerized environments using technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. You will also be proficient with Helm for packaging applications and Kustomize for configuration management.\n Monitoring and Observability: Implement and manage robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) to ensure system health and proactively identify and resolve issues.\nContinuous Improvement: Identify problems, develop and implement solutions, and drive innovation to improve infrastructure performance, stability, and efficiency.Operations and Maintenance: Participate on on-call rotation to provide support for production infrastructure and respond to incidents.\nCollaboration and Support: Work closely with development teams to provide self-service tools and platforms, troubleshoot complex issues, and act as a subject matter expert for our infrastructure.\nSecurity: Implement and enforce security best practices, conduct security assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards.\nMentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.\nWhat you have:\nEducation: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n Experience:\n4+ years of experience in a Platform Engineer, DevOps, or SRE role, with a proven track record of working on large-scale, distributed systems.\nDeep technical experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP).\nExtensive hands-on experience with IaC tools like Ansible,Terraform and/or Crossplane.\nStrong proficiency with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).\nSolid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with automation tools like GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.\n\n Skills:\nProficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.\nStrong knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).\nExperience with observability tools (like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog).\nExcellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.\nWhat makes you stand out:\nSolid understanding of networking principles (e.g., VPCs, load balancing, firewalls) in a cloud environment.\nHands-on experience with ArgoWorkflows and ArgoCD.\nExperience building and managing internal developer platforms (IDPs).\nFamiliarity with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).\nKnowledge of database management (SQL and NoSQL).\nRelevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer).\nWhere you’ll live:\nWhile we prefer candidates based in Atlanta, we are open to qualified applicants from anywhere in the U.S. and are willing to consider remote candidates. #LI-Remote \nWorking at PrizePicks:\nThe typical salary range for this position is $160,000 to $175,000.
