The business is committed to safe, efficient and high-quality production.\n\nMy client is looking for an experienced Mould Operator to join its Continuous Casting Metal (CCM) department in Gqeberha. The Mould Operator prepares and ensures the availability of the required equipment and materials, and uses and maintains various tools, to keep CCM operations efficient and to ensure the required flow of molten metal. The role reports to the CCM Supervisor and supervises a Mould Operator Assistant.\n\nDuties & Responsibilities\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nHealth, Safety & Compliance\n\n Ensure the correct PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is utilised at all times.\n\n Ensure adherence to Health and Safety rules and regulations.\n\n Ensure adherence to the rules and regulations documented in the company’s policies and code of conduct.\n\n Participate in flexibility training initiatives.\n\nMould & Casting Operations\n\n Ensure the sealing of the strand (mould jacket).\n\n Align the tundish mortar using the sander rod.\n\n Ensure the necessary plugs are adjusted as required.\n\n Ensure aluminium wire is fed to the mould.\n\n Ensure the necessary flow of molten metal from the tundish to the mould by operating the mould operator panel.\n\nFlow Control & Quality\n\n Ensure the correct levels are maintained to avoid over- and/or under-flow.\n\n In the event of under- and/or over-flow, stop the flow with the launder and adjust the mould operator panel to zero (0).\n\n Add metal rods and restart the machine.\n\n Remove slag using the slag rod.\n\n Ensure lubrication by adding casting powder.\n\nShift Handover\n\n Ensure a shift handover is done with the Mould Operator commencing duty.\n\nDesired Experience & Qualification\n\nREQUIREMENTS\n\n Grade 12 or equivalent.\n\n 4 to 5 years’ relevant experience.\n\n Health & Safety training.\n\n Housekeeping training.\n\n No legal compliance certification required.\n\n Based in, or able to work from, Gqeberha.\n\nPackage &
