ProBio has established companies in the United States, the Netherlands, South Korea, and China (Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Nanjing) and other regions to serve global customers, and has helped customers in the United States, Europe, Asia Pacific and other regions obtain more than 150 IND approvals since October 2017.\nJob Scope: \nAs part of the ProBio EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) department, the EHS Specialist will report to the Sr. EHS Manager and will ensure that facility operations are executed in compliance with all company EHS policies, procedures and programs and in accordance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulatory requirements.\nResponsibilities:\nDuties of the EHS Specialist include developing, implementing, and monitoring programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment, assessing the workplace for unsafe conditions and acts, designing preventive measures, and ensuring adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations. The EHS Specialist leads EHS-training sessions for employees and designs effective EHS programs and methods of measuring EHS standards in the workplace. This role involves collaboration with various departments to promote safety awareness and achieve organizational goals and employee well-being.\nAdditional du ties include:\nAdminister all aspects of safety programs that empower employee and fosters their engagement in all areas of EHS.\nOversee the hazardous and medical waste programs.\nPrepare, maintain, and submit all required safety and environmental reports\nDrive safety and environmental inspection and audit processes\nSpearhead the site’s Safety Champion and Safety Observation Tour programs\nChampion the site’s 3 Tier Safety Meeting format\nServe as liaison for government agencies and company vendors associated with EHS programs\nInitiate site incident response and investigation process, including scene control and containment actions, initial root cause analysis and identification of corrective actions.\nFoster the visitor/contractor safety program\nInteract closely with visitors/contractors and initiate discussion to determine qualifications of work performed and issue associated EHS programs and permits (hot work, confined space, lifting operations, excavation, etc.)\nImplement all current site-based EHS aspects of company policies, procedures and programs and update and present new or updated internal EHS policies, procedures, and programs as needed\nWork with Facility Engineering, Operations (Facility), Security, and site leadership to develop and implement facility emergency action plans.\nInitiate the completion of PPE assessments, Risk Analysis, and Job Hazard Analysis to identify and mitigate job hazards\nMonitor safety and emergency equipment in accordance with federal, sate and local laws and regulations\nWork with leadership to develop and enforce EHS goals and strategies.\nPromote the proactive safety culture within the organization.\nQualifications:\nAssociate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Management, or related field is preferred, but not essential. 3-5 years of work experience in the EHS or related role is required.\nEHS Certifications such as; First Aid/CPR/AED, Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), preferred but not required.\nDemonstrates knowledge of state and federal EHS guidelines for the workplace.\nExhibits knowledge of appropriate emergency protocols.\nPossesses knowledge of legal repercussions of workplace accidents.\nExhibits strong knowledge of and is able to read and interpret dense legal, state NJDEP, and federal OHSA, DOT, and EPA documents.\nDemonstrates familiarity with job site equipment and products.\nPossesses strong leadership skills.\nCommunicates clearly and effectively and works well with teams.\nPays close attention to detail, exhibits strong organizational skills, and possesses solid problem-solving and analytical abilities\nIs proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.\nPossesses strong writing and verbal communication skills.\nDemonstrates ability to remain calm and cool-headed in the event of an emergency.\nThe estimated pay range for the role is between $60,000 - $90,000 depending on experience and skill set.\n#AH\n#PB\nBenefits:\nBenefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as a 401(k) retirement plan with a company match that vests fully on day one.
