Beyond shipping features, this role sets technical direction, defines reusable patterns, raises the engineering bar through mentorship and code review, and partners with architects and product leadership to shape the platform roadmap. The role supports the Social Digital Products space and acts as a go-to technical authority across the full stack.\nKey Responsibilities\n- Lead the design and delivery of complex, full-stack capabilities end-to-end - from the Next.js UI through FastAPI microservices to Cloud Spanner / BigQuery data stores - owning architecture, trade-offs, and outcomes.\n- Set technical direction for the Next.js (App Router) front-end (TypeScript, React 18+, Tailwind CSS), championing the Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) pattern and a clean separation between server and client components; establish front-end standards, component libraries, and performance budgets.\n- Architect and operate Python 3.11 / FastAPI microservices using the service-repository pattern, Pydantic v2 schemas, SQLAlchemy 2.0+, dependency injection, and async patterns, exposing well-designed REST and GraphQL APIs.\n- Drive the strategy for integrating GenAI / LLM capabilities into the platform - using Vertex AI (Gemini), OpenAI / Anthropic, and LangChain / LangGraph via P&G's governed GenAI gateway - including prompt design, evaluation, guardrails, and cost/latency optimization.\n- Design, build, and operate GCP services (Cloud Run, Cloud Workflows, Cloud Build, Pub/Sub, Secret Manager, Cloud Logging) and lead the platform's evolution toward reusable, self-serve, well-governed patterns.\n- Own data integration with BigQuery and Cloud Spanner for transactional and analytical workloads - applying parameterized queries, partitioning, clustering, and cost-aware design - and support embedded Looker / LookML reporting.\n- Lead the design and hardening of integrations with social platforms, third-party influencer marketplaces, web-scraping / content-extraction pipelines, and internal P&G systems, ensuring resilience, observability, and maintainability.\n- Design and extend Terraform modules for GCP project and landing-zone resources, advancing self-serve provisioning, policy guardrails, and infrastructure-as-code best practices.\n- Embed quality and security into CI/CD and hold the team to it: unit and integration tests (pytest, jest), E2E tests (Playwright), SonarQube, Snyk, and gitleaks; define testing strategy and coverage expectations.\n- Mentor and grow mid-level and junior engineers through pairing, design guidance, and thorough code reviews; foster a culture of engineering excellence and knowledge sharing.\n- Partner closely with product managers, business analysts, architects, and QA to shape requirements, translate architecture blueprints into delivery plans, and ensure technical solutions are fit for use and aligned with the long-term vision.\n- Proactively identify, design, and lead performance, reliability, and cost-reduction initiatives, and uphold coding standards and best practices so services and components stay efficient, secure, scalable, and reusable.\nJob Qualifications\n- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).\n- Extensive experience in full-stack software engineering and web application development, including a proven track record of leading the design and delivery of production systems end-to-end.\n- Deep expertise with modern web architectures and microservice design patterns, and the ability to make and justify architecture-level decisions.\n- Expert, hands-on proficiency with TypeScript, React 18+, and Next.js App Router (server/client components, route handlers, BFF pattern).\n- Expert, hands-on proficiency with Python 3.11+ and FastAPI, including Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, and async patterns.\n- Strong, applied knowledge of GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Workflows, BigQuery, Cloud Spanner, IAM, Secret Manager) and Terraform, with experience operating services in production.\n- Demonstrated experience integrating GenAI / LLM services - e.g. Vertex AI / Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain / LangGraph - into production applications, including evaluation, guardrails, and cost management.\n- Solid experience with Docker and containerized local development and deployment.\n- Advanced TypeScript, Python, and SQL skills.\n- Proven experience defining test strategy and writing automated tests (pytest, jest, Playwright), and integrating quality and security tooling (SonarQube, Snyk, gitleaks) into CI/CD pipelines.\n- Strong command of REST and GraphQL API design, OpenAPI/Swagger, and conventional commits.\n- Strong working knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 and secure coding practices (no hardcoded secrets, input validation, parameterized queries, HTTPS-only), with the ability to guide others in applying them.\n- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, lead code reviews, and drive technical standards across a team.\n- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and clearly articulate technical trade-offs.\n- Nice to have: embedded analytics with Looker / LookML;
