Hands-on experience with 3500 and 3600 series compression systems, including startup, shutdown, and monitoring preventative maintenance support. Also responsible for mechanical maintenance on natural gas gathering and processing compression equipment to ensure safe operations and optimize throughput.\nDUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES\nEssential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:\nSafety first culture including compliance of all associated (company, federal, state and local) regulations and policies.\nEnsure 98% mechanical availability on natural gas compressors.\nProvide technical knowledge and decision-making capabilities to troubleshoot a variety of natural gas engines and compressors.\nResponsible for major overhauls on a variety of engines and compressors.\nPerform preventative maintenance on equipment such as the expander, natural gas engines, turbines, compressors, and pumps, which requires medium to heavy lifting. Maintenance includes, but is not limited to:\nChange gauges (temperature, pressure, etc.)\nRemove and replace electric motors and belts\nRemove and replace filters, oils and other lubricating fluids on equipment\nRemove and replace gaskets\nRemove and replace valves\nEnsure proper housekeeping is maintained\nChange out suction/ discharge valves on compressors\nClean out level sight glasses on all vessels\nChange out control valves as needed\nSecure all types of tubing and piping as needed\nReplace fuses\nApproximately 85% outside operations in all types of weather and 25% in office environment filling out paperwork. Also requires entering information into Brightly data base. Creating and closing work orders in Brightly.\nRecording weights and measures (mic readings) of internal components of engine and compressor frames and enter Brightly for historical records.\nMaintains good economic thinking skills while working under tight budgetary demands.\nContinually tracking and updating maintenance schedules related to compression equipment.\nEstablishes and maintains a near perfect driving record.\nComply with company safety policies and procedures.\nWork assigned shift and be available for overtime if needed.\nMaintain a valid Driver’s license in state of residency.\nLive within 80 miles of reporting location to accommodate call outs.\nRespond to call outs no later than 2 hours from the time the call is sent.\nPerform related duties and responsibilities as required and other duties as assigned.\nComply with all internal, state and federal regulations.\nComply with company policies.\nMaintain honest, respectful, and effective internal and external working relationships.\nComplete all training as directed by management.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nKnowledge of:\n5 plus years previous experience as a Mechanical Technician.\nComputer usage and Microsoft Office (or comparable) products.\nHMI software operations.\nBasic reading and mathematics as applied to equipment maintenance.\nAccepted safety standards and methods of natural gas pipelines.\nPertinent Federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations affecting health and safety.\nNatural Gas Compression and Driven Equipment experience and understanding.\nAbility to:\nObserve and take remedial action on equipment issues.\nRead and interpret gauges, equipment logs and specifications.\nCommunicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.\nMaintain effective working relationships.\nDeal tactfully and cost-effectively with vendors.\nEXPERIENCE and TRAINING GUIDELINES\nAny combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: \nPreferred Education and/or Experience:\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalent helpful.
