The primary part of the job will be participating in the electrical design of new products. Specific technical responsibilities vary by project however it is imperative that you have command of all electrical engineering fundamentals and understand how they are applied to simple, reliable design.\nJOB DUTIES:\nExercise your engineering experience and skills to take initial design concepts from rough idea to complete, fully-working manufactured product.\nCollaborate with a team of top mechanical, firmware, systems and software engineers for leading consumer and medical device companies.\nFollow up the development of robust, testable product requirements with design of system architecture and selection of appropriate components.\nDesign the circuit schematic and complete or facilitate PCB layout.\nPerform board bring-up and integration testing in collaboration with mechanical and firmware/software\nWrite test procedures and assist in formal verification of design function.\nManage bills of materials and redesign for parts obsolescence or constrained supply chain.\nApplication of design principles for prevention of electromagnetic interference and assisting with certification to EMC standards.\nDocument every step of the design clearly and help to continuously improve engineering best practices.\nDevelop your skills and learn in a collaborative, process-driven environment.\nQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s of Science or Master’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university program.\n8+ years of experience.\nHighly motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.\nAbility to prioritize and plan effectively with a drive toward project completion.\nExcellent organization and analytical skills combined with attention to detail.\nExcellence in clear communications and detailed documentation.\nA positive attitude and focus on client success.\nEthical and honest in every part of the job.\nAbility to work effectively in a team setting and collaborate openly with others\nProficiency with Altium tools.\nProficiency in both analog and digital design.\nExperience developing microprocessor, FPGA or DSP-based systems.\nExperience with power management systems, switching power supplies, and battery powered devices.\nExperience with wireless communications components and standards.\nExperience with sensor selection and interface design.\nExperience in bringing products from concept to production.\nHands on lab experience with troubleshooting and debugging.\nPLUSES TO HAVERobotics or industrial automation experience.\nTechnical project leadership of EE teams.\nHardware development for medical devices (including regulatory requirements) and experience working in a medical quality system.\nFPGA design.\nPower electronics design.\nAntenna modeling and design.\nExperience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket).\nHigh speed digital design (e.g. PCI Express, memory bus design, Gigabit Ethernet, USB).\nKnowledge of motor drive and control\nPython programming experience\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITSBase salary range: $140K - $170K\nExcellent Healthcare plan (Medical, Dental, and Vision) fully paid for by the company for the employee; partial payment for dependents\n401(k) plan with company match\nLong-term and short-term disability, AD&D and Life Insurance\nPaid maternity/new parent leave\n11 Paid holidays\n3 weeks of paid time off (PTO) per year, increasing after 2, 5, and 9 years of service\nJob location is in San Diego, CA and may require occasional onsite presence at Simplexity’s clients’ sites.\nNo recruiters please.\nSimplexity is an equal opportunity employer.
