This individual will lead all aspects of global accounting, financial reporting, consolidations, internal controls, audit management, treasury oversight, and financial compliance.\nThe successful candidate will bring strong public company experience, technical accounting expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive mindset for building scalable processes in a growing medical technology organization.\nThis role offers an opportunity to influence the future of the finance function while partnering closely with executive leadership, operations, commercial teams, and external stakeholders.\nKey Responsibilities\nFinancial Reporting & Close\nLead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.\nOversee global consolidation of Canadian, U.S., German, Chinese and Finnish operations.\nEnsure timely and accurate financial reporting under U.S. GAAP.\nReview and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting estimates.\nMaintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.\nSEC & Public Company Reporting\nOversee preparation and review of quarterly and annual filings, including:Form 10-Q\nForm 10-K\nMD&A\nEarnings release support\nSEDAR+ filings\n\nCoordinate with external legal counsel, auditors, and filing service providers.\nEnsure compliance with applicable securities regulations and disclosure requirements.\nTechnical Accounting\nResearch and document accounting positions under U.S. GAAP.\nLead technical accounting analyses related to:Revenue recognition (ASC 606)\nStock-based compensation\nForeign currency accounting\nBusiness arrangements and contract modifications\nNew accounting pronouncements\n\nPrepare and maintain accounting memos and supporting documentation.\nInternal Controls & Compliance\nMaintain and enhance the Company's internal control framework.\nSupport management's assessment of internal controls over financial reporting.\nLead process improvement initiatives to strengthen control effectiveness and operational efficiency.\nCoordinate external audit and quarterly review activities.\nEnsure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.\nTreasury & Cash Management\nOversee cash management activities and banking relationships.\nMonitor liquidity and working capital.\nSupport cash forecasting and capital planning initiatives.\nReview foreign exchange exposures and treasury controls.\nTeam Leadership\nLead and mentor the accounting and finance team.\nFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.\nEstablish clear performance expectations and create growth opportunities for team members.\nPartner with FP&A, Human Resources, Operations, Commercial, and Executive Leadership teams.\nStrategic Finance Support\nSupport financing activities, investor relations initiatives, and Board reporting.\nPartner with the CFO on strategic projects, financial planning initiatives, and operational improvements.\nAssist in evaluating new business opportunities, commercial arrangements, and international expansion initiatives.\nEducation & Certifications\nCPA designation (CPA, CA preferred).\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.\nKey Attributes\nRequired\n7-10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.\nPublic company reporting experience.\nStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.\nExperience managing external audits.\nAdvanced Excel and financial systems proficiency.\nDemonstrated people leadership experience.\nPreferred\nMedical device, healthcare technology, manufacturing, or life sciences industry experience.\nExperience in both Canadian and U.S. reporting environments.\nERP implementation or finance transformation experience.\nExposure to multinational operations and foreign subsidiaries.\nWe thank you for your interest in Profound Medical. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and job-related factors.
