We are changing the paradigm for treating diseases such as prostate cancer by using real-time MR Imaging, thermal ultrasound and close-loop temperature feedback control, to gently ablate the diseased tissue with minimal side effects.\nIf you share our values and want to work in a collaborative results focused culture and want to make a Profound impact in healthcare and your career, here is your chance.\nGeneral Accountability\nWe are seeking a hands-on Mechatronics Developer to design, integrate, and test robotic and electromechanical systems for medical devices.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nDesign and develop robotic mechanisms and electromechanical subsystems.\nConduct Root Cause Analysis on failures seen in the field\nSelect and integrate motors, sensors, encoders, and motion-control components.\nCreate CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.\nBuild, assemble, and test prototypes, fixtures, and production-ready assemblies.\nIntegrate mechanical hardware with electronics, embedded controllers, firmware, cabling, and software.\nTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, firmware, communication, and system-integration issues.\nUse oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, debuggers, and other laboratory equipment to diagnose hardware and firmware problems.\nDevelop scripts, automated test equipment, and hardware-in-the-loop test systems.\nAutomate hardware control, data collection, test execution, and results analysis.\nWork with suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams to improve reliability, manufacturability, and testability.\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline\nKey Attributes\nRequired:\nFive or more years of experience developing robotics, automation equipment, medical devices, or other electromechanical systems.\nExperience with motors, sensors, encoders, actuators, and motion-control systems.\nProficiency with 3D CAD and engineering drawings.\nStrong hands-on prototyping, integration, and troubleshooting skills.\nExperience using laboratory test and measurement equipment.\nBasic firmware debugging experience with embedded systems.\nProgramming or scripting experience using Python, C, C++, C#, or a similar language.\nExperience developing automated tests, test fixtures, or data-acquisition systems.\nStrong communication and documentation skills.\nDesired:\nMedical-device development and familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, or IEC 60601.\nPrecision mechanisms, robotic positioning systems, or surgical robotics.\nFirmware development or debugging in C or C++.\nHardware-in-the-loop, endurance, regression, or production testing.\nMRI-compatible hardware, electromagnetic compatibility, grounding, shielding, or non-ferromagnetic material selection.\nDesign for manufacture, tolerance analysis, and supplier management.\nWe thank you for your interest in Profound Medical.
