About Progress Partners

Progress Partners is a fast-growing technology company building and scaling next-generation SaaS and mobile platforms. We blend creativity with data-driven execution to ship high-impact products, including AI-powered tools, productivity platforms, and workflow software, used by millions of people in more than 160 countries.

Our global team of experts in software development, product design, growth, and analytics collaborates across time zones to deliver category-defining innovations. We work end-to-end across the product lifecycle: design, build, launch, and scale.

If you’re passionate about building transformative products, Progress Partners is a place to make a lasting impact.

About the Role

Hi, I'm Marie, Director of Data at Progress Partners. I'm hiring a Business Analyst who goes beyond reporting, someone who collaborates with business stakeholders and product representatives to support business decisions. You'll define the metrics that matter, build a deep understanding of the profitability of each of our products, and turn analysis into concrete recommendations. Dashboards are one output of the role, built in our existing BI tool: the core of the job is the strategic thinking and analysis behind them - figuring out what's happening in the business, why, and what we should do about it.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to leadership and product, providing analysis-backed recommendations on pricing, investment, and business strategy decisions.

  • Define and own core business metrics (CAC, LTV, churn-adjusted recurring revenue, funnel conversion, contribution margin) used consistently across the business, with clear, documented definitions.

  • Build and maintain per-product profitability analysis, combining revenue, cost of acquisition, and churn-adjusted recurring revenue, validated against Finance's manual reconciliation.

  • Run deep-dive and ad hoc analysis on the customer journey, marketing spend, pricing, and product performance to identify growth opportunities and risks before they show up in a dashboard.

  • Partner with Data Engineering to prioritize data sources and models, and to define data quality and completeness requirements from a business-reporting perspective.

  • Own the accuracy of business reporting end-to-end: validating metric logic against source data, catching discrepancies before stakeholders do, and re-verifying whenever underlying data or definitions change.

  • Maintain reporting in our existing BI tool (already in place) so metrics stay consistent and trustworthy: reporting is a means to an end here, not the deliverable itself.

  • Set and enforce a data quality bar for business reporting, including reconciliation checks, sanity thresholds, and clear flagging when a metric shouldn't be trusted yet.

  • Prepare and present analysis for leadership and cross-functional reviews, grounded in verified, trustworthy metrics you own.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years in a business analyst, data analyst, financial analyst, or strategy/analytics role, ideally in a product-led or subscription business.

  • Business and strategic judgment: comfortable moving from a number to a recommendation, and confident advising leadership on what a finding actually means for the business.

  • Strong SQL skills and comfort working directly in a modern data stack (e.g., BigQuery, dbt) to pull and shape your own data.

  • Solid grasp of unit economics and profitability concepts: CAC, LTV, margin, churn-adjusted revenue, financial metrics.

  • Experience defining KPIs and metrics from first principles, including documenting definitions and edge cases.

  • A rigorous, detail-oriented approach to data quality: you double-check numbers before sharing them and treat an unverified metric as a liability, not a deliverable.

  • Comfort working in an existing BI tool to maintain reporting, without needing dashboard-building to be the main focus of the role.

  • The ability to distill complex data into a clear narrative for non-technical, senior stakeholders.

  • Strong written communication and the ability to work autonomously in a remote, async environment.

  • Comfort with ownership, transparency, and a results-driven mindset.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with payments, subscription, or e-commerce business models.

  • Familiarity with marketing attribution and multi-touch customer journey data (e.g., GA4, Google Ads, Amplitude).

  • Experience working directly with a data engineering team on data modeling priorities (Bronze/Silver/Gold or similar layered architectures).

  • Prior exposure to FP&A or finance workflows.

How We Work

We’re fully remote and distributed across time zones. We default to async, communicate in writing, and trust people to deliver outcomes, not log hours. Decisions are transparent, ownership is clear, and your work is visible from day one.

Interview Process

We've designed our interview process to be transparent, respectful of your time, and a genuine two-way conversation, we want to get to know you, and we want you to get to know us. You'll always know what stage you're at, what to expect next, and roughly how long things will take.

  • Initial screen with our Talent Acquisition Team - 30 min

  • Take-home assessment - Estimated effort: 1-2 hours

  • Final panel with our Director of Data - 60 min

What We Offer

We believe great work starts with taking care of our people and we want everyone on our team to have the support and resources they need to thrive, both professionally and personally. Here's what you can expect when you join our team:

  • Remote-first: Live and work wherever you're happiest and most productive. No relocation, ever.

  • Flexible hours: we measure outcomes, not time spent at a desk.

  • Unlimited PTO: take the time you need to rest, recharge, and do your best work.

  • Learning & development budget: courses, books, conferences, certifications, whatever helps you grow.

  • Home office & wellness allowance: a dedicated budget to set up your workspace and support your health.

  • A small, senior, collaborative team where your work is visible and your decisions matter.

  • The chance to build products used by millions of people across 160+ countries.

Equal Opportunity

Progress Partners is an equal opportunity employer, and we’re serious about building a diverse, inclusive team. We welcome applications from people of all genders, gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, ages, ethnicities, nationalities, religions, disabilities, neurotypes, family situations, socioeconomic backgrounds, and life experiences.

We hire on skills, experience, potential, and values fit, never on protected characteristics. If you need accommodations during the application or interview process, just let us know.
