Know more about us.\nIn this role, you will:\nArchitect, design, and develop features related to OpenEdge Development Tools, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nLead the evolution of development features, enhancing performance, usability, and diagnostic capabilities.\nDrive the integration of AI-powered features within the OpenEdge Developer Tools ecosystem and understanding of RAG, MCP etc.\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team, applying systems thinking to solve business and technical problems while ensuring adherence to best coding and design practices.\nCollaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, QA, and UX teams to deliver robust, scalable, and user-centric solutions.\nAnalyze and optimize performance issues using profiling tools and diagnostic frameworks.\nEnsure quality and maintainability through automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration pipelines.\nStay current with emerging technologies in IDE tooling, AI-assisted development, and performance optimization.\nAdhere to Agile practices and methodologies, actively participating in all Agile ceremonies.\nYour background: \nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.\n6+ years of professional experience in a product development organization, with a strong background in designing and delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions.\nProficient in Java, with openness to learn and adopt other relevant technologies such as JavaScript and TypeScript.\nProven experience in developing VS Code extensions or Eclipse plugins, with solid understanding of Language Server Protocol (LSP) and Debug Adapter Protocol (DAP).\nStrong foundation in web development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful services, and modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.\nDeep understanding of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and software architecture principles.\nStrong knowledge of database concepts, query optimization, and performance tuning for scalability and reliability.\nHands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar, leveraging them to enhance productivity, testing, and documentation workflows.\nFamiliarity with Node.js and modern JavaScript frameworks used in IDE tooling or developer platforms.\nWorking knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and version control systems such as Git.\nExpertise in profiling, diagnostics, and memory performance optimization on the JVM or similar platforms.\nAwareness of software security best practices and ability to identify, assess, and mitigate vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10, dependency scanning, secure coding standards).\nExperience applying static and dynamic analysis tools to ensure code and dependency security.\nComfortable working on both Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.\nDemonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate within cross-functional teams to design, plan, and deliver new features.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to apply systems thinking to technical and business challenges.\nCommitment to Agile practices and methodologies, actively participating in Agile ceremonies and promoting continuous improvement and engineering excellence.\nIf this sounds like you and fits your experience and career goals, we’d be happy to chat.
