The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of mechanical systems, and a passion for innovation and improvement in engineering processes\nKnowledge and Experience in:\nBoiler / steam systems\nIndustrial building services (sprinkler systems, CHP, process cooling and heating)\nHydraulics systems\nPneumatic systems\nHighbay racking\nConveyor systems\nYour responsibilities\nPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems and machinery, including bearings, shafts, hydraulics, pneumatics, boiler and plant equipment\nTroubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in production machinery, including high-speed machines, conveyors, and other automated systems\nRespond quickly to mechanical breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure production targets are met\nSupport automation and control system enhancements to increase system reliability and production throughput\nEnsure all mechanical systems comply with safety standards and industry regulations (e.g., NFPA, NEC)\nConduct regular inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure safe operation of mechanical equipment\nEnforce safe working practices\nCollaborate with production and maintenance teams to address technical challenges and improve the performance of manufacturing equipment\nMaintain accurate records of all mechanical maintenance activities, including repairs, upgrades, and system performance\nGenerate and review reports on mechanical performance, system issues, and maintenance needs\nYour profile\nYou will be educatedto HNC level and have a minimum of 3-5 years experience.\nIdeally with FLT and Cherry Picker Licence.\nProblem Solving and Analytical Skills:\nStrong troubleshooting abilities in order to quickly resolve mechanical and control system issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities\nStrong self-starter capable of independent learning and desire to learn and develop\nStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with production teams and other engineering staff\nAbility to document and explain technical information to non-technical personnel\nAbility to ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices in mechanical maintenance\nFooter\nWe are a progressive employer, boasting a state of the art manufacturing environement\nYou will join a friendly and flexible team, supporting the maintenance department of one of Europe's foremeost cardboard manufactures.\nWe provide a flexible shift working pattern of 4x4 12 hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off basis\nCompetitive salary and a generous holiday allowance\nWe have a competive company pension (qualifying period) and a contributory health care programme\nUniform is free along with unlimited free tea and coffee.
